    Another O ring question

I removed the oil cooler lines from my 2008 RS4 and was going to replace them with the JH motorsport ones. They are not in stock at JHM and mine looked like new so I put them back on to get the car to the shop to have the A/C charge. I nicked a O ring and so I had a pretty decent oil leak. I called the dealer and they said they had them in stock. Wrong ones and I am glad I had them double check. They said they would get the right ones tomorrow, but I am a bit skeptical now.

I am looking for the part number for the o rings that go on the oil cooler pipes (lines) where they go into the engine block.

I googled these, they show up on a parts diagram as #6, but there is no # 6 part. Anyone run in to this, and anyone possibly have the part number?

    Thanks!!

Fun answering myself. Guess old age is hitting fast.

For anyone searching for information on the O rings that go on the oil cooler pipes or lines, here is some info:

Factory O-ring is 20.2mm O.D., 16.7mm I.D. and 1.75mm thick. I have not been able to come up with an Audi part number and my audi dealer was supposed to have the parts in today, but I am not holding my breath

Sub O-Ring: Danco Inc is a popular brand and found in many hardware stores and Home Depot. One of their O Rings is a very close match and works fine. Their item number is 35714B and they call it a #80 O-ring. Size is 51/64" I.D. x 41/64" I.D. x 5/64" thick.

Do the math, and it works out to almost a perfect fit. O. D. is 20.3mm, I. D. is 16.3mm, thickness is 1.98mm

O-Ring is Nitrile , fuel and oil resistant, temp up to 250 Degrees Fahrenheit. Installed them this am, no leaking. If I can get the factory ones, I will put them in just to be safe.

    Hope this helps someone.

I know which ones now. I tried to replace them because I thought he JHM o-rings were too small. I didn’t find the part number and had to use them.

I found the part number later: N91044502, and I’m not sure why they cost so much.

I’m buying o-rings from McMaster next time.

Definitely not 079103121AD. That is what the dealer was going to sell me until I questioned it. It looked much bigger (I did not take the original O-Ring with me) and those tabs would not work at all. Guessing those are for some banjo bolt setup on a different car.

ECS had some others as well, but no info on size so hard to tell if they are right or not. I looked on the JHM site, but I could not find anything there either. I googled like crazy, finally found an English web sit with the part, the part size, but a more generic part number (did not like an Audi number)

N91044502 That was the part number on the English web site where I found the specs, but I did not think it was an Audi/VW part number. Did a search this morning. About $45 EACH!!! Thought that was a typo on the ECS page, but even on eBay, they are close to $40. Not sure what makes these so expensive!!!!! On the other hand, Audi spec'ed these out and I would hate to lose an engine because of buying less expensive O-rings that may or may not work right. When the dealer gets mine in, I am going to suck it up, buy two very small O-rings for $100 and replace the $2 Danco ones that seem to be working fine JUST in case!

    Thanks for adding great info.

Number 6 it is. N 91044502 looks to be the correct number.
