Damn thats fast, I have pretty much the same mods (besides milltek dps and exhaust) and tune, fastest I could get it on my P3 gauge is 3.7X, which method are you using to launch the car?
Life is too short to drive boring cars.

P3 is probably not the best way to log. It reads from the ecu which can be off by itself simply from something like aftermarket wheel/tire sizes and it has a ms delay for sensor reading, computing, then p3 reading via obd2 port.

NOT stg 2 but figured I would post up my stg 3 results for comparo. Have done 2 runs at same spot and got 3.21 and 3.23. Broke traction both times too. I bet sub 3 is possible with good conditions.

I do a mix, I wait till it builds and on the upswing release around 2000 rpm sometimes 3000 rpm. iirc this run was on a e21 mix. 93 pump I run 3.5's all day. Also without launch control 3.8 is my best.

Doesn't APR allow 3 different RPM's for launch control, depending on how hard you depress the accelerator?

Yes. The minimum you can have programmed is 3k. I'll most likely have my tuner set it to that and see how it goes.

Correct, and all 3 are borderline useless at stage 3 levels. Ask me how I know

I'm stage 2 and broke my rear axle launching at 3750 rpm. So I asked my APR dealer for lower launch rpms. He put on 2500-3000-3500 even though I did not see that combination listed on the APR website. I launched a few times at 2500 rpm but did not yet dare to go higher. Haven't been to the track this year since the one close to my house closed down.

What rpms do you have? I had my car parked in APR valet mode two weeks when I went on vacation. When I came back I had the feeling it didn't pull as hard as it did before. Could also be related to the LME air intake that I build and installed recently or just high temperatures (first thing in the morning the car seems to pull better). Now I have an itch to go stage 3 but I'm still hesitating to drop that amount of money just to pull a little harder from a stop sign or traffic light. Since my home drag strip closed I haven't been to another one yet. Too far away if i break another axle there.

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of doing! Thanks for letting me know there's a lower setting. My car is at my tuner getting a few small things taken care of. I'll have him update the launch rpms.

This is one of the biggest misunderstandings I've seen with this platform. Think about where our cars are seeing peak torque, it's around 3.5k RPM. Torque is what breaks drivetrain components, not HP.

If you're launching at or near peak torque, you're putting the most stress possible on the drivetrain. That is why you broke your axle at stage 2 levels because you launched at 3.75k. You likely would've never broken an axle launching at 5k, but of course 5k launches can create wheel spin so this can create a difficult situation.

I have 3, 4 and 5k RPM launches available currently for my car but not going to be using them, its unnecessary at stage 3 levels. I can pull 1.61 60' and 2.9x 0-60 times without LC so I don't see the point of trying

HIGHLY recommend staying away from 3 or 4k launches at any stage with these cars. 5k LC works great for stock and stage 1, sometimes stage 2 with good prep and tires

Thanks for the info everyone. I just enjoy kinda knowing what the car can do so if I launch it, I'll be sure to be in 2k or just mash it and see what dragy says for fun. Broken axle sounds like a hassle. Wait that rhymes!

Mickey, out of curiosity -- if APR can set up a 2k launch profile, would you use that vs. the upswing? If it worked, could it:

    1) potential simplify the launching process at stage 3?
    2) allow launching with traction control off? not sure whether leaving TC on for the launch as you do with the upswing impacts shifting (ie, does the car pull timing to allow for shifting with TC on, but won't do so with it off?)
