    Correct Dipstick for B8 A4

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi all,

    I am looking into getting a dipstick for my 2011 A4 but I want to make sure I get the correct part. I keep finding conflicting information, for example;

    Europarts says this dipstick will fit https://www.europaparts.com/oil-dips...6j115611e.html

    Yet ECS says the same part number will NOT fit https://www.ecstuning.com/b-mtc-part...6j115611e~mtc/

    I was hoping someone can confirm what the correct dipstick I should be getting and what the correct part number is.

    Thanks!

    I didn’t go through Europa or ECS - but below is the link to the one I purchased on Amazon. Part number appears to be the same, and actually looks identical to the one ECS sells.

    MTC 4687 / 06J-115-611E Engine Oil Dipstick (06J-115-611E MTC 4687 for Audi / Volkswagen Models) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CR42SRO..._wxgMBbERX9K7K

    Exact one I bought from Amazon. Fits great and reading seems to match oil sensor perfectly.

    Mad6 - You have the right part number. The reason why ECS says its not the right part is because its going “by the book.” There is technically no official OEM dipstick for this car. The part number you found is the well known to be the best “fit” for the B8. It reads the oil level fairly accurately (between the two marks) but the top plastic handle can rub a bit against the hood lining. There are also other aftermarket options that are made specifically for the B8.

    I bought one on ebay a while back and it works fine. I just had to trim the top of the ring so it didn't hit the hood of the car when I shut it. I don't recall the exact part number, but if you get one that fits the 2.0T it should be fine.

    Here's a little tip that I discovered when you install the dipstick for the first time. Coat the O-ring around the top with a little bit of oil or else you'll have a heck of a time getting the dipstick in and out.

    I just use it for checking I don't keep in all the time. So problem closing the hood.
