    2.0t Diverter valve problem

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
The car is a 2005.5 A4 b7 2.0t awd all stock. I’ve been through 4 diverter valves in 2weeks and I can’t figure out why! The part that stumps me is every time I put a new one in it’s fine until I run high boost then it fails.

This last one lasted a week babying it but today it boosted heavy up a Hill and now I have low to no boost pressure.

Has anyone else had this problem with the newer dv’s?

They’re Audi and the newest versions.

And that the part that I don’t get! I don’t know what part is failing! It just blows my mind!

Because if it’s something elertrical if I buy the gfb upgrade it’s not going to change anything. I wonder if I should try and actually bov!

That is the latest version. Don't know how you can break it because this is an updated part over the old diaphragm-type which is prone to tears.

Doesn’t a bad pcv cause overboost issues?

Now the I’m pretty sure the car is to blame on keeping the dv open!

I took the battery off both sides for an hour and now I have boost again! Idk why it’s doing it but I think I’m just going to go with the forge or turbo smart blowoff valve.

something else is wrong. I think the dv is the symptom , not the route cause .

First off, stop buying DV’s. If you’re getting boost after you reset the ECU your DV is working. You’re going into limp mode, at least that is what it sounds like. If you bought 4 DV’s already, why would you buy a 5th?

Stop throwing parts at it and get a proper boost leak test done. If that comes up fine then you need to start looking into N75 or wastegate issues.

Limp mode can also happen with fuel related issues. You gotta diagnose the problem, not just keep throwing DV’s at it because it’s should have been obvious after the 2nd one that it’s not the problem.

4 DV’s is over 200 bucks. You could have spent less money on one hour of dealer diag and you’d know what was wrong.

You probably have a bad wastegate in the turbo like almost everyone who get P0299 codes now.

K03’s are dropping like flies. 😞
