    Brake pressure sensor

I thought I got rid of my ABS problems but it seems another problem has surfaced. I’m getting a code for the brake pressure sensor. I’ve done a little bit of troubleshooting but I’m willing to bet it is the sensor itself.

Now if I replace this sensor I’m going to need to bleed the ABS module. What order do I do this in. Would I bleed the ABS module first and then the brake lines or vice versa?

Any other info on this topic would be helpful as well.

    Troubleshooting I’ve done:
-scan with VCDS; brake pressure sensor code, will not clear
-check function of brake pedal switch; activates while pressing brake pedal
-check function of brake pressure sensor; receives pressure value while holding brake pedal
-perform abs system test; assuming test cannot be completed because of stored code, or quite possibly I’m just doing the test wrong.

That’s all I got, looking forward to hearing some of your responses!

When I replaced the G201 ABS brake pressure sensor a couple years ago (it was throwing a 01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) code), I just bled the brakes, I didn't do anything with the ABS module. Everything seems to be working fine.

You bled from passenger rear to driver front?...Furthest to nearest?

I believe the procedure is nearest to farthest, so it would be:

    1) Driver front,
    2) Passenger front,
    3) Driver rear,
    4) Passenger rear.

You need your abs unit rebuilt.Control module portion only.No need to bleed anything.

I already did this. Rebuilt for the common left front wheel speed sensor. Mentioned the fact I was getting a code for the brake pressure sensor.

Anyways, I did unplug it and removed the connector. Blew it out then plugged it back in. After some driving the code hasn’t come back. Still went ahead and purchased a new sensor just in case.

    Brake pressure sensor

I don’t believe the brake pressure sensor is a serviceable part I believe it’s part of he abs unit.Brake switch is a separate part that can be changed.

Also if bleeding it’s farthest to nearest.

I just checked the Bentley manual I have and it states the bleed sequence is:1. left front, 2. right front, 3. left rear, 4. right rear.

I’m not following a Bentley manual it doesn’t really matter.Vice verse works fine as well.

When you start with the furthest wheel, though, you minimize the possibility that you miss air bubbles. This is because when you move from the furthest wheel to the second furthest wheel, you now only have fluid flowing past three of the four branches. There is no fluid that is passing that fourth branch, so there's less chance of air getting in there.
