    Clutch Replacement Quote - HELP

    So my B7 S4's clutch just stopped working recently and I had it towed to a local shop (I currently have nowhere to work on the car myself). The shop told me that my slave and master cylinder are shot and that there is oil on the pressure plate. Everything needs replaced, and the quote they gave me is $3000 WITHOUT the clutch and flywheel. This seems ludicrous to me. Can anyone shed some light on how much this should actually cost (assuming that I even need to replace everything).

    Thanks in advance....

    Let's see....
    LUK clutch kit: $140
    LUK flywheel: $400
    Slave cylinder: $60
    Master cylinder: $105
    So $700 in parts... call it $1000. Plus labor. 3k in labor???

    My labour in 2012 was $500 but that’s also in the Midwest where the overhead of realty doesn’t drive up the cost of everything.

    In 2013, in Canada:
    14Hrs at 98 = $1,379
    Clutch kit = $432
    Salve = $159
    Exhaust sleeves = $76
    Supplies = $49
    $2,095CAD or $1,606USD in todays conversion.

    I dont know what parts they used as it was just before I bought the car, actually the clutch dumped itself on the test drive, and they replaced it and kept the same price of the car.

    Was this with master and slave cylinder as well? Or just clutch/flywheel?

    Labor only of clutch and flywheel. I would have been providing those.
