Please help me with my S4!!!

Hey Audizine, I’m in desperation mode with my s4. I’ll try to make this brief. I have a problem with getting esp/abs/brake lights off my dash. Here’s what happened. Abs module was fine. There were no codes on VagCom, I was having an issue with acceleration on my car. Under WOT the car was jerking pretty violently and my traction control light would blink. My mechanic and I thought it might have something to do with the abs module, so in a moment of desperation he basically reset the module and put it into the function test mode. The one Ross-tech demonstrates how to do on their website. Ever since then, I haven’t been able to complete the test. I try and try for hours but to no avail. So I figured I’d keep driving the car and hopefully a code would pop up, and sure enough it did. It was a code for the Yaw rate sensor. I went out and bought one and swapped it out. Tried to do the test again, but still not able to complete it. At this point I just got fed up with it and decided to leave it on. But every time I drive the car, the lights come back on. I scan it again and again and now a new code is popping up. It’s 01423 Lateral acceleration sensor (g200) 27-00-Implausible signal. I’ve researched for the last 2 weeks probably and I cannot find anything that even remotely suggests where this sensor is on the s4 or even what it looks like. Some pages say it’s incorporated together with the yaw rate sensor but I’ve seen the g202 sensor and it’s a separate unit. I don’t know what to do anymore about these lights or about this code. And I’m praying someone on here knows something about this issue. Here’s what my dash looks like on a daily basis. I start the car, have a solid esp light, a solid abs light and a solid brake light until I take the e-brake off. The e-brake light disappears, now just the esp and abs lights are on. Then I firmly press the brakes and the esp light turns off, suggesting that the system funstion test procedure has started. The abs light is still on at this point. So I go on about my day driving normally and I don’t know under which circumstance, suddenly I hear 3 beeps and esp light comes back on and brake light is flashing. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t. But every time I get the same code. And my abs light never turns off. I’ve relayed this as clear as possible and as short as I possibly can to make my problem clear. I hope someone can help me out with this because at this point I’m ready to just give up on the car completely.

I had a similar issue after doing my manual swap (allroad), is this car swapped? I believe what I had been doing wrong was using the new spec of it being a manual for the login but I needed to use the original specs as an auto even though I had coded it to a manual. I tried a bunch of things even was getting the yaw sensor code so swapped it (had a spare) so unfortunately I always forget what actually worked but I'm pretty sure it was because I had used the wrong login.

Sorry for the confusion guys, but I fixed the violent shaking and the traction light flashing under WOT. The car drives and accelerates fine. My actual issue is with the esp/abs/brake lights. Since he put it into system function test, I haven’t been able to complete it and I keep getting a code for the g200 sensor which is the lateral acceleration sensor. I’ll try to post a full scan later today.

Oh and no it’s not a swap car. The car is manual.

The function test should end on a Key cycle sounds like you need to finish the basic settings of it most likely which involves doing a login and then a special procedure. Google your abs version and basic settings and you should get a page on the ross-tech wiki with the specifics for your car.

Do you guys know if the computer part of the module can be removed from the car without the hydraulic part?

I've heard of people saying you can remove the module and continue to drive while you get it repaired and I'd rather not have to bleed all my brakes again.

The ABS module? It has a plastic slide style retainer. Just pop it off. No need to bleed anything.

vitaha, any luck solving this issue? I have the same fault. Never had the same original WOT issue that you had but I have the same G200 fault. I've never had esp or abs since I've had my car; always had a "missing message from steering angle sensor" fault then I finally traced a broken wire from my clockspring. Fixed that issue and now I get this G200 fault after every attempt at the esp road test.
