Does anyone know if ordering a custom color causes a longer wait for delivery?

I'm close to 100% sure that it does, but I don't know how much AND I don't have an exclusive paint.

From the experiences I have seen of others +6-12 weeks with ~8 being average.

I ordered my TT RS in October of last year and I got it the second week of May, with exclusive paint, the dealership said to add 2-4 more weeks at least.

related question, does anyone know if colors offered on VW's Spektrum chart can be done for the same price? Afterall, they are VAG colors.

I was obviously referring to Volvo’s very strong brand around their Polestar blue. It’s a great look.

Exclusive color cars are done it batches. So they end up scheduling a run to do the accumulated orders. I ordered my 2018 the day dealers could place the order. In fact we had to call Audi in Florida and have them add the exclusive option into the order system.

So the exact amount of the delay largely comes down to how far away the scheduled custom day(s) are at the factory.

Ordered mine 4/10/2017, original ETA was shown to happen in August, actual delivery to the Houston port did not occur until 11/3/2017. Delivery to dealer 11/09/2017.

Thanks! It's under the knife right now for some OEM+ mods and a few other goodies, but I'll definitely have more pics soon.

It's an extremely bright color and shows slightly more yellowish in the sun. It's still pretty bright out of the sun, though.

Thanks all for the feedback. I just got back from the dealership, and ordered Solar Orange. I have until Monday to finalize.

Dealer thinks this will arrive in November. I'm thinking more like February!

I did the factory tour in June when I was doing my European delivery on my RS3. I saw the process, I saw some rare colors in the production line. it is awesome that you can actually pick the color that you want, I think that over time some of these cars will be rare and perhaps more valuable. I got a plain Jane white but I have my reasons, I live in the desert(Tucson, AZ) and it gets hot as hell here, white is the best to combat the heat. Trust me!! I like other cars but the heat is a deal breaker.

I asked about this at the dealers when I ordered mine, and Lambo colors are off limits.

But aslong you have the color code, any color is optional from any brand. So if you want a paint from Porsche or Ferrari, they can do it.

And of course, the extra money. Think it was around 6-8k option in my country.

My tts is in solar orange and I get a compliment about it every day I drive it, it brings a lot of attention so if you decide to go with solar be ready to spend extra time talking to people about it lolIMG_3897.jpg

+1 so you feel my pain...thanks!! it is hard to get into a car seating at 110-115 degrees in the sun. I choose white to mitigate the heat.
