You could try but it is maybe not really considered a NHT
SafetyA thing. Since failed mounts do not cause any safety related issue. Many drive for long periods with them completely broken and some don't even know. If the mounts somehow separated causing the motor to fall out or if their failure stopped the car cold on the highway then maybe the NHTSA would sit up and take notice. Sadly weak motor mounts have been issues on Audi's long before this. It is up to Audi to address, but in my 20+ years with Audi's they have not. Some people get 200k+ miles, others (myself included), get less than 30k so of course it will be blamed on the driver and driving style. Audi likely has better stats than just an enthusiast forum and of course will say there is no need for a voluntary recall if their stats indicate that most drivers do not have a failure. Plus if fails outside of warranty they may not care at all. IMO Audi uses soft mounts to allow for the smoothness associated with a Premium luxury brand, but then advertise Sport and if you drive in a sporting fashion you risk damaging the soft/weak mounts. It is a shame, I understand, but sadly part of Audi ownership. Thankfully there is an aftermarket that recognizes these types of issues and sometimes offers solutions. (Ex: 034 solid mounts)
