    2016 TT S-line Build

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Picked up a used 2016 TT back in April and I thought I’d share the things I have done so far and future plans. I don’t see too many modified TT’s over here in NA, I know there are more over in the UK.

    Factory options:

    S-line Package
    Driver Comfort Package
    Navigation Package
    LED Headlight Package
    Mythos Black
Black Interior with S logo on the front seats

    Modifications as of today:

    KW Suspension V2
    BBS CH-R 123 19x9.5 et45 with 255/35/19 MPSS
    034 Dynamic Camber Mount
    034 Dogbone Mount
    034 Subframe Inserts
034 Motorsports carbon fibre fuse box cover
    Forge Motorsports carbon fibre intake
    Remus muffle with custom mid-pipe
    Relak paddle extensions
    Clearmounts phone mount
Blackvue DR650 dual channel with PMP
Black vinyl wrapped front grill surround, side reflectors, rear diffuser
    25% ceramic tint
    Tinted tail lights
    Clear PPF headlights
    Rho license plate mount

More mods planned for the future…

    All photos taken by me.

First thing done was the Rho plate mount and de-badge.

Relak paddles are a more subtle option versus the others available.

Next was a drop with KW V2 with the height set to the lowest (took out the rear spring seats to give it an extra drop). Installed the 034 camber mount along with their dogbone and subframe mounts at the same time.

Fitted the Forge Motorosports Intake and 034 Motorsports fuse box cover.

Put some spacers on with the OEM wheels. 10mm front and 15mm rear. Got some of the exterior cosmetics cleaned up with black vinyl wrapped grill surround, side reflectors and rear diffuser. 25% tint. Rear tail light tint.

Got the Remus muffle installed by GT customs here in the GTA who also made the custom mid pipe.

Picked up a set of used BBS CH-R in 19x9.5 et45 with 255/35/19 MPSS.

Love the look with those CH-Rs. I bought the exact same wheel and size in black 5 mins before I saw this. What a relief, looks great.

Nice build man. Looks great! .. btw, which spacers did you go with originally with OEM wheels? I had some 10mm H&R but came to find shop sold me wrong ones (2 cause wheels to be slightly wobbly). So trying to find the right ones now, wanting to go 10mm/15mm as well (or 12/15).

Thanks! I was considering getting black too but a set of these came up for a deal I couldn't refuse. Looking forward to seeing your set on the car!

Yes they are the H&R ones. I had no issues when I had them on with the OEM wheels. Hopefully you get your set sorted out soon!

You happen to have the part # by any chance or still have them? They seem to have multiple different P/N for the sizes and none of them actually list the MK3 TTS on there.

Decided to test fit some spacers on with the BBS CH-R.

Used 10mm for front and back but 10mm might be too aggressive for the back. Most likely get a 5mm if I move forward with this. I can fit 10mm in the front due to the 034 Dynamic camber mounts.

To ensure no rubbing I would need to make some adjustments to the fender and liner. I was just wondering if anyone has ever ran something this agressive on the TT.

Would essentially be 19x9.5 et35 in the front and 19x9.5 et40 in the rear with 255 rubber all around.

Something I wanted to point out that your photos brought to light. The TT front end looks WAY better imo without the front audi rings muddling up the hood. The lines look soooo much better without it. I think I might go badgless.

    OP - Looks BAD ASS!!

The most aggressive I've done was 9.5 ET40.

Or black them out. But I agree. Check the bknewtype TTS.

I originally was going to black out the emblems. I think I will remove the emblems because its free and if I get tired of it add black ones. I kind of like the sleeper aspect. The car is getting stage 2 right now so I think it will really surprise some unsuspecting fast cars. bknewtype TTS is on point! I think we chose well. Same here on my last car, MK2 TT .. had 19x9.5 ET40 with ST coilovers on lowest settings so I was pretty low. Ran slightly stretch tires at the time, 235/35/19 .. it rub slightly on hard dips

I’m running 265-30-20 on 20x9 et35 lowered on MSS. I had to adjust the rear camber to 2-degrees to eliminate almost all the rubbing. I still have slight rub on hard dips. This is about 6mm bigger in diameter and just under 5mm more poke. If you don’t mind running more rear camber, you may be fine with the 5mm spacer, but it ‘s going to be close and a 3mm might make more sense.

Thanks for the info! I want to avoid having too much of a stretched tire just because of the bad roads we have there in Toronto.

I believe my rear camber is already set to -2.2 but its nice to know you're able to fit a wider tire. Though I think I'm a bit lower than MSS springs so I might run into trouble from my height. Thanks for the input helped a lot!

I think -2.2 is just right to clear that rear fender tab.

A friend of mine happened to have a set of BBS CH-R in 19x9.5 et35 which is exact spec as the set I have apart from the offset being 10mm more aggressive. I had previously tested my set of CH-R (19x9.5 et45) with 10mm spacers and found that it was too aggressive with 255 MPSS. I was wondering if 235 on a 9.5 tire would be too much stretch? I really like the et35 version since it has a much more concave face making it look much more aggressive.

Here are some pictures below from test fitting the 19x9.5 et35 CH-R without tires.

Recently I picked up another set up summers but still stuck with BBS. One of my favourite designs from them, the LMR. These are staggered and are 19x8.5 et38 in the front and 19x9.5 et38 in the rear wrapped with 245 MPSS.

Me too. The rear specs actually fit the front too but since I got these used locally, I didn't really have the option of getting a square setup.

I could have swore that Audi told me there were two "alignment" holes on the hood for the rings, is that not the case????

Thanks! I'll be sure to check out you IG. As for the camera I went from the NEX-5T to the A7II and so far I like it a lot. I sold the kit lense after I got the Zeiss 55mm F/1.8, which is what I only shoot on now since its my only lens.

Well they asked me if I wanted the cut out for the rings or without. Since Audi told me there were holes I just told them to do it with the cutout. It's fine....my gloss black emblems will be here at the end of the week. I just need to decide if I debadge the rear and just put it on the front or put it on both. My initial thought is to keep it on the front and rear, might look weird just on the front and the whole rear with no badges.

All you shoot with is that 55mm?!? Nice! I have been wanting to sell my Canon 50mm 1.8 and get that Sony....just have other priorities. If I can just get my Canon T1i sold....hmmmm LOL

Yep only the 55mm, although I do want a wider lens in the future but similar to you it isn't my top priority right now. Got car parts I want to get

RIGHT! I am just waiting on black friday to order my bags, then the saving starts for Stage 2+. By the time I get my money saved for it my warranty should be gone, so game on. I might have to budget some cash in there for a custom exhaust....I need some more volume.

I'm also waiting for some black friday deals to order parts haha. As for an exhaust, I have a Remus muffler with a custom 3in midpipe and the volume didn't increase too much from stock. (could just be the Remus muffler) I feel like the real game changer for volume for our cars would come from the downpipe. A friend of mine swapped to a Miltek DP on his S3 after he got a custom catback exhaust done and it was way louder than the stock downpipe even with the custom catback exhaust.
