I own this. Its a good tool

But honestly, I would suggest spending a bit more and getting VCDS.

    I second that.

This works great for reading codes, resetting codes, small programming, and maintenance/repair stuff like throttle body calibrations or rear parking break release, but is far from the diagnostic capabilities that VCDS has. Plus, support is lame and takes a while from China. ECS does not support it, it’s just their sticker basically.

No-brainer is this tool - Obdeleven
    https://obdeleven.com/en/

Does everything what VCDS does, except costs about 65€ (for full version ). I have one, and I sold my VCDS cable after I bought Obdeleven. It's portable, always in my car when I need it, don't need a laptop to use it.

+1 for OBDEleven it’s nearly everything VCDS does but portable. Only downside is that it is only Android not iOS

This is the one I purchased from ECS (I believe) and it's been great for me, however the Ross Tech VAG-COM has a better user interface.

If you want to be a pro, Foxwell released the GT80 mini/pro series scanners which looks legit for all cars.
