    New rear bumper cost

Hey guys. Any idea what a new rear bumper will cost? Parked at the gym, a girl backed out into the rear bumper. Its out of alignment now and has a crease alongwith the paint being gone. Not sure what all is broken and if the crease can be fixed. So I am looking at my options. Add to it that she doesn't have insurance and she is gonna pay cash for the damage.

Unless the bumper has a tear or is split open, most insurance companies would only pay to repair it. At least what I see day to day in my area. Which if it was my own car, I would have no problem repairing the oem, in fact, I'd probably prefer to fix the own cover. Without seeing the damage, going by what I see in our shop everyday, I would guess around $1200. For a simple cover repair and replacing some bumper brackets or "stays" is what we call them. Have no idea where that term came from but I think Toyota or Honda uses that term. Now if there is more damage behind the cover, or the trunk has some damage, or maybe some of the tabs on the cover broke, you can probably double that.

Audi USA parts has the bumper cover at $927, impact bar at $485 and diffuser at $275. Then there’s the labor to remove, paint, install....

The body shop and my friend who works is a master tech at the dealership told me that we are possibly looking at replacing the bumper since it is pushed in and not aligned anymore which possibly points to broken brackets. $2200-2500 at the least.

Here are the pics. What do you think? Its very slightly misaligned . I think it can be taken off and refinished but the body shop guy said the brackets inside might be broken since its misaligned.
