A6 Front Control Arm - Recommendations

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok so did do some research via the forum search and only found a few references for the A6 platform of those replacing/upgrading control arms.

So recently competed oil change looks like my front left control arms may need replacing... hear some creaking and appears there is a slight crack. So my question to the GREAT forum...

I was planning to change out front & rear sway bars with EuroCode as planned to go to track for the first time... but now with control arm replacement needed looking into LYKT Adjustable Control Arm B8/C7/8R Street

Any feedback/recommendation? I do plan to do both front left and right..

Currently at 65k... never tracked... only ever had maybe three serious runs above 10mph... otherwise baby it due to daily driver.

Wow, that is low mileage for control arms. At least I hope it is low mileage.

I would say you had a good run on the factory if you have never changed it. Rubbers deteriorate over time and considering it's a daily, all the heat cycles and weathering it's been through, not bad at all. I plan on doing my fronts shortly as well as I too am hearing slight creaks and play while braking. I plan on going oem however as it has proven to me how long it lasted.

Yeah everything is still factory... I only just recently changed out brake pads and rotor which were original factory... previous owner babied car so in some ways I lucked out...

Leaning towards a full kit, instead of replacing just arms: Audi Control Arm Kit

    Any feedback on EuropaParts?

I just ordered a OEM SC bypass valve from EuropaParts. It turned out not being my issue though, and I was able to return it and get a refund less restocking fees. Customer service is good, and they respond within 24hrs.

I just did my full front end with 034 motor sports and it’s great . Cost me about 700 for the control arms top and bottom with ball joint .

Recently did my lowers with the 034 Motorsports Density kit at 58k miles. Very happy with the results, and way less money than OEM. Uppers shouldn't need to be replaced for a while.

Appreciate the feedback... 034_MotorSports and EuropaParts seem comparable... Sent a request to both to get some more specs... and pulling the trigger soon enough...

Going to do complete kit for front...

What's reasonable cost for labor?!? I don't have access to a lift so leaning on EuroFed for assistance.

Labor was around $220 for my lowers, assume double that.

My S5's control arms are needing replacement too, at 66K miles, I guess that's the expected life from OEM control arms. I will be going with lemforder (OEM) full front kit, it's more expensive, but I don't trust 034/LYKT/Chinese parts. Labor is not cheap in PNW, better get it right in one shot.

Perfect been on the fence with 034/LKYT myself due to quality of hardware. Couldn't push the button to order last night so checked "lemforder" and the difference between two appears to be $1000 vs $1,400... Is the cost indicative of the quality?
