How the heck do I get the digital speedometer to come up on the center display between the tach & speedometer???

There's a button on the bottom of the wiper stalk that says "Reset". Press it until you see the mph.

You don't have a big mode button on the left side of the steering wheel? This is what changes the main information in the instrument cluster display. The toggle on the end of the wiper stalk and the button on the bottom of the wiper stalk work the trip computer info. Also, if NAV is active, you can't have the digital speedo displayed. But this is all on my MMI 2G (2009). I'm sure you can find an owner's manual for your year.

You don't have a big mode button on the left side of the steering wheel? This is what changes the main information in the instrument cluster display. The toggle on the end of the wiper stalk and the button on the bottom of the wiper stalk work the trip computer info. Also, if NAV is active, you can't have the digital speedo displayed. I have 2g (2012). No reset button on bottom of wiper stalk and don’t think there’s a toggle

I have the same issue on mine...mine is a “premium”...not plus or prestige which i believe has those features.


2011 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Auto

Mines just a premium model (though the original owner did spring for some bells and whistles like LED, NAV, and few others) and I have the wiper stalk that WarmFuzzies posted above and am able to display the digital speedo.....

I'm B8.5 though, so maybe that has something to do with why I have it and Steelerhater37 doesn't. (Ravens suck btw )

You have the same trim car as mine, no reset or toggle on the wiper stalk. There is a way to code in some of the other screens and use the AMI to show you additional info on the DIS. I don't think you can get the digital speedo readout this way.

I went the route of swapping a color DIS (used cluster), programmed the miles and put it in. Then I found the correct wiper stalk with reset and toggle switches. Recoded it all and now I have all the screens you are talking about.

The reset button you point out only resets the values of each that can be reset. Both my previous 2009 premium A4 and my current 2015 A4 SLine have it....unless I've missed something...I can;t see it being any other way.

Base models don't have the toggle at the end. Some of the functions are coded "off" because there isn't a way to use them without the toggle. You can code some of the functions on and use the center AMI button to swap what shows on the DIS (red version usually). Mine was this way until I bought a color cluster and appropriate wiper stalk and recoded it all.

Yes, thus was what I was recalling. I think you can also enable consumption readings. It would say what systems were on and what is causing the most power use or something like that.

You can code everything to be shown on DIS with the exception of digital speedometer. Without the proper stalk, all the options have to be turned on/off "manually" via the AMI menu.

Ahh but that’s not what you did exactly, Quad tip AWE or a custom one makes sense. Just getting one off a stock S4 and calling it a day is super lame
