    Issues with launch control

Hey hey. So I have read the manual and watched numerous vidyas, but I can’t seem to get the launch control to reliably activate all the time.

I wait for engine oil temp to warm up, turn off auto-stop/start, disable traction control (single push), put it in sport mode (also tried without this step), ensure steering wheel is straight, then push in the brake fully and then foot down on throttle. I usually feel the car urge forward a bit with RPMs hitting ~2k....more like brake boosting. Rarely the car will properly activate launch control where the revs hold ~3k until I release the brake.

Anyone else experiencing this? Am I a special breed? Help!

The only thing I could possibly think of that I do differently is put it in dynamic mode. Never had an issue with launching following those steps.

I've had this issue too, and it stemmed from me not holding down on the brake hard enough. It may seem like you are, but try it with a little more pressure, and see if that will get you more consistent results!

I'm at work now, but will try after the car warms up on the drive home. How hard are we talking here? The pedal only goes down so far........

I'd peg it at slightly more than you might be comfortable with?

Launch control works flawlessly for me. You have to put all the pressure u can on your brake pedal. Mine almost goes down to the floor.

In the B9 A4/5/Q5 yes. It isn’t just brake boosting. It’s a proper launch control.
    The B9 S4/5/SQ5 don’t have it.

That's nuts I wonder why no launch control for them, just tried it yesterday and it worked easily.

    Turn off traction control
    Turn off auto-engine off crap
Put it in Dynamic SPORT mode (drive mode doesn't work)
Smash brake pedal hard to floor (it will go down pretty far)
    Smash gas to floor
release brake pedal after a couple of seconds
    vroom vroom

Never had an issue. Never had to smash the brakes either. Be sure to hold the traction control button long enough to turn everything off which happens in two stages, watch the info center, and have it in sport mode prior.

You do have to brake past the point of auto stop. If you didn't know, you can prevent autostop. Just be soft on the brakes while stopped. Play with it, you will see what I mean.

TC doesn't need to be off. TC sport (one click) is just fine.

Edit: now that I'm thinking about it, I've always punched the gas hard to the floor, past the little stop you get. Requires just a little bit extra force to pass that point.

Yeah also found out if you don't launch in time the launch control drops the RPM's back down to save your brakes. Oops

There is definitely a sweet spot on the timing where boost is fully built vs just taking off at higher RPM and low boost.
