Stock Ride Height for Dynamic setting

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Very random question but does anyone happen to know what the stock ride height of the Gen2 SQ5 (with Air suspension) are in Dynamic mode?

I had an Audi tech play around with the settings using the factory tool and the suspensions locked out on him. He restored everything back but now I think the paranoia is kicking in and the ride height seems a tad bit higher than normal for me in Dynamic. Lol

Comfort/Auto mode provides 7 inches (178 mm) of height and is the standard ride height. The Allroad setting levels at 8.2 in. (208 mm) and is also the fixed ride height of the SQ5 and Q5 standard suspension. In Lift/Offroad mode the SQ5 sits at 9 in. (228 mm). Dynamic mode sits at 6.4 in. (163 mm). There’s a switch in the cargo area that when pressed will drop the SQ5 a couple inches (50 mm) to make it easier to load and unload items in the trunk. The ride height adjusts automatically based on the mode and the speed that you are traveling.

The standard adaptive damping suspension has three modes, comfort, auto and dynamic to go along with that 8.2-in. (208 mm) ride height.

Lol. Now do you know how to lower these cars aside from the lower links? Read the factory tool can do so but my tech wasn’t able to figure it out...

Nope one week in so I would think that the suspension only does what it will do. But if you figure it out let me know.

So far only the factory tool can lower it for sure. It’s a recalibration process that involves having the wheels off the ground if I remember right. Unfortunately that’s all I know as I had my shop do it (Pacific German). I’m lowered both in the CPU and with the links as CPU can only go so low.

Gotcha. Yeah I’ve see pictures of your car. Looks great with the adjusted height. I guess will just have to wait until more development happens. Did you do the lowering links before the factory tool drop? Curious how low the car gets with only links.

Thanks! Yea I did the links first then switched up to see if the ride quality changed - and it did not. I never tried to go as low as possible but i think I have seen someone else on here who did. The pics looked like tucking tire in the front and rear, but thats way lower than I would go anyway. I would have to suspect from what they posted and my experience that the air spring is going to be too deflated and will be bouncy and not the best ride...at least while at the dynamic ride height.

Do you guys know what the total height is? Looking to do an autocross day and they want the car to be wider than taller. They look at track width (mid tire to tire) which is 1624mm. They also see the height from this schematic as 1635mm. Anyone know the height when its in dynamic with the air suspension?

You should probably ask that direct question in the B9 Q5 forum, relevant to the vehicle in question. As this is the B8 Q5 forum, and this thread has been dead for 6 years, and the B8 Q5 didn't have air suspension, and the answer for a B8 may or may not relate to a B9.

    So this forum - https://www.audizine.com/forum/forum...-(B9)-Specific
Also clarify if you're talking about the Q5 2.0T with 1BK standard air suspension or the SQ5 3.0T with 2MB sport air suspension.

1BK standard air is a 25mm drop vs standard steel, and the SSP says dynamic mode is an additional 15mm drop.
    2MB sport air is a 30mm drop.

These drops are the same for the adaptive and the air suspensions.

Audi says the front track is 1615mm and rear track is 1608mm. And the height at 1664mm, or 1661mm for the sportback. But you might want to subtract the height of the roof rails, as they're not going to roll the vehicle. Whether that height is for the standard suspensions or the adaptive and air suspensions, no idea.

Yes, understood this question is in the B8 forum but why is the OP talking about air suspension on his car yet you mention that the b8 didn't have air.

Just trying to keep the forum clean from new posts that may or may not be useless.

"Gen2 SQ5 (with Air suspension)", OP was asking about the brand new at the time B9 Q5. Maybe the B9 Q5 subforum didn't exist then so this was the only Q5 forum? Don't know about back then. Thread should have been moved to the B9 Q5 forum. But makes more sense now that you would add your question to this existing thread. But, the B9 Q5 people are less likely to see this thread these days as it's here and not there. I did a Contact Us email; will see if they can move the thread to the appropriate forum.

And see your sig says SQ5, so would be 2MB. The Audi SSP on the B9 Q5 (type FY) only discussed the Q5 1BK. But offhand, I'd say -30mm plus -15mm, takes you to 1619mm, but that's going to include the roof rails. As if being 1614 vs 1616 makes any difference.
