    Passenger Air Bag OFF

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello hope everyone that reading this is all well. Yesterday while driving my car I randomly had the passenger airbag off light come on while driving with a person in the passenger seat. I have turned my car off a couple of times and it doesn't go away, after starting the car it comes on and stays on. What should I do about this and has this happened to anyone else?

I would assume that the weight sensor in the seat is bad or came unplugged. That's where I'd start.

I have the same issue. I’m pretty sure it’s a bad passenger occupancy sensor (weight sensor) on mine. I haven’t had time to look deeper into it other than looking around for a replacement sensor which no one seems to carry.

If the passenger is no longer in the seat it will remain off but if you turn the car off and got out then returned to the car with passenger and it still off the the sensor is defective. Or if the plug got hit while digging for something under the seat that might have caused it. Just throwing things out there.

do you know what it would look like? I actually had to put my passenger seat as far back as it could go to look for something the same day that it started. Actually when I put the seat back to normal position is when I noticed this light staying on and bag staying off.

There is a recall coming out for the passenger seat sensor controlling the airbag. I'm not sure there what models and years are involved but they don't have a fix for it yet. You might try going to the audi recall site and entering your vin to see if this affects you.

Just checked that site, no recall or anything so im guessing it has to be the plug that the other person mentioned. Going to have to look and see if there's anything disconnected.

I would run the seat all the way up and back a couple times and see if that helps.
