MK2 TT Bose amp replacement w aftermarket

I've got a 2008 TT with Bose and the Amp is no good, inspected it and the pins on 2 of the chips are corroded and a few have broken pins once I cleaned out the grit/corrosion. Board appears clean aside from those chips. Speakers work ok but not at full power and same with sub. Definitely works better after cleaning

Debating getting the amp fixed with replacement chips or just replacing with aftermarket.

Can anyone recommend an amp suitable for the Bose system?

Does anyone know the impedance of the stock speakers?

How difficult will it be to find a remote turn on line in a canbus car?

Would it be easier to just bite the bullet and have the amp repaired at one of the various repair companies online? Found one in US for $260USD. I believe they coat in hot plastic after repairing to prevent water damage

The speakers should be 4 ohms. I would get a new amp instead of repairing the old amp. There should be switched 12V at the CD changer plug.

Thanks for the quick reply Christian!

What kind of specs should I be looking for in an amp for this application?

It depends on your goals. If you never plan on upgrading your speakers then pretty much anything will do. I think the sub has its own amp but I'm not 100% sure. if you get a small enough amp you can keep the factory wiring for power. If you're close I wouldn't mind taking a look just to learn a little.

I don't plan on upgrading speakers. Using factory wiring would be nice but battery is in the trunk so cant imagine wiring an amp would be too difficult in this car. I'm in Southern Ontario

We are outside of NYC way too far.
