Hi, I have a hard time finding koni fsd set for sale for my 2005 a6 4.2. I did find sets for 3.2 , 3.0t. Thanks for your help in advance. If someone bought/installed those in 4.2 koni fsd part number might help me.
    Thanks for the help.

When I purchased mine for my 3.0T a few months ago from ECS they said that there’s a new version coming out soon so they were clearing out what they had. I haven’t seen anything yet.

You should be able to find the part number from Koni, e.g. here: http://www.koni.com/en-US/Cars/Products/Catalog/
and from there I am sure you know that Google is your best friend :)

Very sorry to revive an old thread but Google hasn't been a good friend for the past week.

I've been researching and I have been seeing a lot of positive reviews and recommendations for Koni FSD shocks/struts for a C6 but I cannot seem to find the specific Koni FSD shock/struts for an A6 3.2 Quattro or a part number for that matter. When I go to the Koni website, I do not see the FSD product. Is it the orange str kit, sport yellow or the red special active that I should be looking at?

    https://www.koni-na.com/en-US/NorthAmerica/Products/Cars/List/?t=KoniPartSearch&q=2006&m=161&mk=3&mt=1

I have a 2006 Audi A6 3.2 Quattro base with the regular suspension. I have 20x9 ET35 mrr hr4 wheels mounted on 245/35/20 champiro tires and I'm looking to reduce the wheel gap, avoid rubbing and maintain the factory softer ride quality (daily driver) with lower stance. I dont like the sporty stiff feel.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I'm aiming for the same stance:

Koni Special Active are the new line to replace the FSD. If you want a lower ride AND a less sporty ride, you might find that combo difficult to achieve. Based on my reading, coilovers can get you closer to what you are looking for. But I do think that a light drop using Eibachs and the Koni Special Actives will be the next closest in a Spring/Damper combo.

    Thanks a lot Cal3thousand.

In the past two weeks I've contacted almost every online koni, eibach, ST (suspension technique) and AST springs and strut kit supplier in the US and everyone has stated that the koni orange 1125 1136 and red active aren't available and the eibach pro kits are back ordered with no indication from Germany on producing more. I'm being left with h&r as my only real option but I have concerns with installing them on a non sport and non sline with 20x9 et35 mrr hr4 wheels on 245/35/20 champiros and rubbing I might get with 1.6inch drop. I'm still actively searching for ST and AST springs with 1.2in drops.

Eibachs Pro kit have a 1" drop. I have a set I'd be willing to sell (Sedan;3.0T)

Is the 1" drop after it settles or after initial install? How many miles/KMs on them?

All the suppliers are pushing me towards H&R lowering springs and Koni Orange STR. Shocks. It feels like they are doing this because it happens to be the only setup they can guarantee to supply if I place an order. The Koni Orange STR. seem ok price wise but aren't adaptable like the Koni Red special active or Koni FSDs. After talking to north American suppliers for the Koni Red special active, nobody can seem to get their hands on them and Koni FSDs are discontinued. For any interested in hunting these down for themself I do have the part# for the Koni Red Special Active shocks for a 05-11Audi A6 C6/4F 3.2 Quattro sedan:
    8245-1001
    8245-1002

I have the Koni orange str. Part# As well if anyone needs it.

In my search for the right setup I came across KW H.A.S springs which seem to be a great solution. They provide adjustability for ride height between 1.0"-2.2" , they are designed to work with factory shocks and they maintain a lot of the original ride quality for the same price id pay for a set of new springs and shocks which hits a lot of points on my checklist. For anyone interested in this alternative:

That's an interesting option that I have never seen before. So you would slap these onto regular dampers it seems. I wonder if it would be worth it to put these on OE dampers until they give out. I have about 133k miles on my car at the moment.

I'll be contacting KW North America this week to confirm but based on what I've read up on it...these are designed to work with OEM dampers so in essence, the OE dampers would be good until they give out. I'll let you know what they say.
