What's your TTRS' exact weight? Find out now in under a minute!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Did you guys know that every new TTRS and RS3 has a sticker in the trunk located below the tire repair kit which contains the following?

    Engine & transmission codes
    Engine output
    All equipment and option codes
The exact weight of the car as it left the manufacturer in kilograms

Let's all post our weights and compare them. List your weight and what options your car has. Since all the cars are weighed exactly the same way with the same exact fuel load at the factory, this is a great way to figure out how much weight certain options add or drop. For example, I'm sure the carbon ceramic brakes/fixed suspension save at least 15lbs compared to the steel brakes/Magnetic ride suspension. On the other hand, I bet the Technology package adds a few pounds because the Bang & Olufsen has more speakers and a bigger sub.

I'm especially interested in seeing some weights from our friends across the pond since their cars are likely lighter due to no sunroof, less crash protection, less standard equipment, etc.

Interesting. I take it your RS has the fixed wing?

Mine is 1504 KG and here are the options:

    - Tech Package
    - B&O
    - Carbon Inlay
    - Black Optics Package
    - Sport Exhaust
    - 20” Wheels
    - Magnetic Ride
    - Red Brake Calipers
    - Fixed wing spoiler

I don’t know what makes mine heavier but the fixed spoiler shouldn’t add weight since the motor and wiring must be absent from my configurations so it should even be a tad lighter.

It's the technology package I believe. The B&O seems to be about 15lbs heavier than the factory audio system. Does it have an extra subwoofer or amp over the standard system? I know it has more speakers.

Audi will often equip cars with wiring and parts for options that it doesn't even have as I guess it actually saves money? I remember on my old B5 S4, I was amazed by how many wiring harnesses there were that did absolutely nothing. They were for options that my car didn't have. So I bet yours has the wiring harness for the electric spoiler even though you have the fixed wing. Now whether or not it has the motor for it I'm not sure. I guess it's possible?

It looks like you and VeryBadman have identically equipped cars. And they both weigh exactly 1504 KG. That's pretty cool.

Now I wonder if these weights are with a full tank of fuel or some other quantity?

Guessing it is not a full tank, maybe half or a quarter. None the less is still pretty neat.

Can't decide if I want to go full send and get a lightweight battery and get a racing seat to slap in.

I hear you. Both are on my short list. I'm not going to be suckered into one of those $1K+ batteries though. I've used this 6lb battery in several other cars before with great success: https://www.techbatterysolutions.com...ery-p/etx9.htm
The only snag is due to it having only 120 CCA, you really need to keep it on a trickle charger whenever the car is in your garage. Oh and it may not be suitable for people who lives in colder climates although I used to run it in my GTR and other cars back when I lived in NY. Hard to beat for $60!

I see you have the APR tune. How do you like it? Are you running E85?

Tune is great so far, but it needs the TCU tune to go with it. Beening running 93 map till I get an ethenol sensor installed. It is consitant as all get out, ran like 5-6 11.3x on a crappy back road where I was spinning like crazy. 0-60 times are consistantly in the 3.1x-3.3x range with the stock tires, and 1/8th mile is 7.2x-7.3x, all on the 93 map, probably has a high 10 in it with just switching to E85, but E85 and tires should be 10.5x or a 10.6x.

Being something of a brand new owner who has only peeked at the area underneath the rear carpet once, where exactly is this sticker located and how much do you have to remove before you can see it? It looks like the tire fix-it stuff is encased in several pieces of thick styrofoam like material and it all seems to be jammed in there pretty tightly.

It's under those styrofoam pieces. Only takes a minute or two to take them out.

If you check all the booklets, floor mats etc that your car came with, you may find a second sticker that's identical to the one in the trunk.

    I posted a 10.75 @ 132.7mph on Sunday with a 1.76 60ft on APR Stage 1 E85 file.

My time posted on Dragy on the street for the 93 file was 10.98 with a 1.87 60ft.

Very very difficult to launch the car on the Pzero’s.

I am in the U.K. and my dragstrip literally is at sea level, it faces out onto the sea so power output and hence the strong exit speeds are about as good as it’s going to get. I was also running E85R (Sunoco)

With better tyres (PS4) I am confident that the APR Stage 1 tune will do a 10.5 and maybe if I were to strip it, a 10.4.

Sweet run! I think I saw your car posted on APR's Instagram. You also have an intake and Forge front mounted intercooler? We have started compiling a database of timeslips in this thread here. Feel free to add yours.

Do you know what weight your boot sticker has listed?

Tires then an intercooler are the first two things on my to do list. Followed by TCU tune and an intake, but this thing has low 10s in it for sure. Just need the right conditions and it will happen.

hey all, found this thread. I have a face-lift car, mine says 1558 kg..= (3434lbs), did they change how they published measured weight? Maybe on earlier models they used DIN vs EU standards?

Never seen a stock 8s TTRS above 3300lbs so if I remove the additional 75kg from EU standards, it brings me closer to the pre-FL at 3,269lbs

Seems to be the average stock weight. Got mine down to 3080lb (1397 kg), full tank of E85 (done at weigh station).

I wish the Recaro Podiums were a direct fit at a decent height. From what I've seen most of the seat swaps result in a very low sitting position and I'm only 5' 7" so thats a deal breaker for me. Not to mention the brackets and stuff are pretty heavy for most of the seat conversions that I've seen.

Took a look at my sticker, it's 1558 kg (3434 lb), porker model. Must be the Daytona Gray pearl effect, those pearls are heavy =)

2019, tech, dynamic, RS Design interior, blk optic, sport carbon packages. I'm surprised I could ditch 354 pounds with bolt ons (Benjamins did the actual work =). Cumulative effect, with exception of the 034 sway bars, every other 034 part is as light or lighter than stock. When 034 finishes their surge tank then go to 1/4 of E, take out the passenger seat it should be nicely under 3000 lbs. Maybe able to pester a 720s, lol.
