STM intercooler results

Got a chance to install the STM intercooler in my car today and compared before and after as best i could with dragy.

Car - 2018 RS3
Tune - Unitronic 1+
Fuel - Petro 94
Wheels - 19 x 8.5 Konig ultraforms
Tires - 245/35/19 PS4S
Intercooler - STM

Everything is Stock other than whats listed above.

Stock IC results - Ambient temp 60 Degrees F - DA 1036


STM IC results - Ambient temp 71 Degrees F - DA 1494



So almost .2 sec and 2.5mph "recovered" in worse weather. Not bad!

With hotter temp and higher DA, looks pretty good. Thanks for sharing. May go that way if Unitronic don't move their butt <3 Uni!!

STM FMIC has helped a ton here in Texas and no doubt I’ll be in the 10’s this fall on Stage 1 93. DA’s here have been floating around 1800-3000DA in the middle of the afternoon with feels like up to 110 degrees.

The first two pulls were done after 9pm at about 85 degrees the second set of 4 were done in the same spot but around 3pm at 92 degrees. Both are back to back pulls from one street light to the next. Also have 1/4 comparisons.

No intercooler

Stage 1 or stage 1+? You indicated stage 1 93.
So, safe to assume 1+, and since in TX, why wouldn't you be?!
Any other mods?
Wheels/tires, if so, spec's?

Sorry, I should have clarified I'm not on Unitronic, I'm with Custom Code. I mainly have supporting mods, 034 suspension bits, PiperCross panel filter to be different, and OEM R8 wheels w/PS4S's which aren't the best for drag racing, but on the street they do fine.

you can tune out the midrange loss but, stock tune you're losing a good bit with a larger IC. from single dyno pulls you'll lose up to 20whp in the midrange. It's why a tune with IC is so important, so you can take advantage of it

Ugh I'm trying to get around tuning it....maybe the IE intake can even that 20 loss out
