Recommendation for Auto Detailer in Bay Area

Hello NorCal AZ,

As the title states, I am looking for recommendations / feedback from the community for an auto detailer in SF Bay Area.

I live in the North Bay but def willing to travel if the service is good + reputable and the price is fair + reasonable.

In need of full detail -- exterior wash + clay bay + wax + full interior w/leather cleaning -- also considering clear bra or ceramic

I recall seeing some positive reviews somewhere about AJ Professional in San Jose -- any folks in the community have experience there ?

Also, 034 Motorsport in Fremont is my primary shop so would be interested if anyone has feedback on Double Take & Auto Pro in Fremont

Any others out there that folks recommend ?

I would recommend Auto Lounge in Fairfield. The owner Joe is good guy and his work is meticulous. They can also do ceramic coating. He did my interior and it came out excellent.

I used to go to AJ they are ok, used to be one of the few good ones back then, but now-a-days, there are a bunch of independent enthusiasts that opened shop around now, can search on yelp. Small one to two man operations, so they require scheduling sometimes a few weeks out. I’m trying out full detail and ceramic coating at Dynamic Detail in Santa Clara next week.

MAR quality protection in Newark for exterior paint protection and paint correction. They did my clear bra on my 4Runner. They don’t do interiors though. They just focus on ceramic coating, paint correction, and paint protection.

Did you find a shop that you liked?

I'm in the same boat as you. My S5 is filthy and I'd like to get it detailed now that the weather is nice. I'm in the East Bay but I'm willing to travel to a shop with good feedback. I had OptiCoat Pro applied over 3 years ago and I think it no longer provides much protection. I want a thorough cleaning, clay bar, wax, and interior detail.

Through Yelp and AZ searches, I've found a couple of places that seem promising from their reviews:

+1 on MAR quality protection. They are not too far from 034 also. I did a stage 2 paint correction w/ 4 year ceramic coating. Top notch work and they keep in contact with you the whole way through. They gave me updates and pictures of the progress almost every step of the way. That what set them apart from the rest. Its good to see a daily progress report on your car. Just let them know I sent you. My name is Derrick and they'll know me as the black audi w/ the copper wheels. Here are some pictures of their work.

I don't know if you're still looking or not, but I had my S5 detailed at JD Detailing in Lafayette today. They did a wash, clay bar, wax, and cleaned the leather interior. Jay and Joe, the owners, worked on the car for over 4 hours and it looks great. The finish is now smooth as glass and the Sepang Blue Pearl really snaps. My wheels sparkle again after brake dust removal and wax application. It cost a reasonable $250 which I consider a great value. Call 925-464-0509 to ask questions and schedule. They're very friendly and they spent time addressing all my concerns.

Called MAR in Newark but they don't do wax, only ceramic coating, which I didn't want.

Also called AE Auto Spa in Benicia. Their basic detail was $350 and extras could run that up to as much as $700. They don't do wax either, but finish with Ceramic Pro Sport. They wanted the car dropped off and picked up the next day.

I'll be back to JD Detailing in the future.
