    New C7.5 build 2016 s6 p+ Glacier White

    Hello

Jumped back in to the Audi world this weekend - purchased a 2016 p+ with only 14k miles on it CPO. Pretty excited - and I can tell this thing has a lot of room to grow.... Ive owned 3 s4's and an RS4 so this was always my target.

With the low number of CPO S6's in the US, I had to settle for one that did not have every cosmetic option that I wanted as I was targeting CPO and low mileage. I ended up with a non-black Optic car in Glacier White. It has the sport package (Sports Diff) and the aluminum/wood inlays. It sadly does not have the LED lights - a feature that almost kept me from buying the car - but in the end the deal was too good to pass over the lights. It also has the upgraded 20" wheels. Pics to follow.

Every Audi that I owned was TI or Black Optic. I searched the forms, but was hoping to find some direct answers to a few questions and solicit opinions/examples of experienced S6 owners or fans. Thanks in advance for the help. I live in Houston Texas area - but would easily be able to get work done at any of the 4 major Texas cities.

Ive been out of the game for 2 years - really appreciative of anyone that can lead me in the right direction on any of my many questions below. I know there are a lot - I am searching the forum as well - but thought I could use this thread as a build thread as well.

    1. Conversion to Black optic or not? If so, Vinyl wrap the trim and replace the grill? Buy new trim? RS Grill is a little played IMHO - if I did this, I would do Black Optic. What is the best way to purchase this part if I do? Any examples of trim wraps on glacier white? Any value to my current grill?

    2. Best wheels for black optic on Glacier White? Sizes and offset? (I will not be lowering the car and would love to reuse the tires i have currently as they are brand new. I actually love the other 20" Audi Wheels - but I assume those are hard to find for a good value...Any examples of white s6's with great wheels?

    3. Best Wheels if I do not change to Black optic? Any examples of the best Glacier White S6 I could model my car after?

    4. Vinyl the Side Markers? White or Black?

    5. What do you do with the rear diffuser if you convert to Black optic? How about the Trunk Chrome or Door Handles?

    6. Powder coated Calipers worth it? Do they last? Any recommendations in Texas for this work to be completed?

    7. If I were to do protective film, I would just do front. Any opinions on material?

    8. I had Cquartz Finest on my last car and loved it - any opinions on this vs other options? Would love a not so expensive but similar option.

    9. Can my current wheels be painted or powder coated? Any examples of these wheels in different colors that look good? Im not interested in plastidip.

    10. If not, Are these wheels worth selling? How much are they worth?

    11. Inlays - Do you think there is anyone willing to trade Carbon Atlas inlays for Aluminum and wood? If so, are they an even trade or should 1 party expect to add cash? Are the trim pieces hard to swap?

    12. Anyway to get carplay to work on these cars?

    13. Is there a list of great VagCom Mods for these cars?

    14. Headlights - Any way to upgrade the performance of these lights without a light swap? Bulbs? recommendations? Where to buy?

    15. LED Interior lights - Never owned a P+ car. Almost died inside when i saw my interior lights were pale yellow vs bright white LED. Any brand that is the most reliable and not codes?

    16. Performance Mods - AWE? Alu Kruez? Sways? why?

Any Houston or Texas S6 guys/gals that can recommend where you would get your work done outside of dealer.

Really appreciate it - Ill try to post pics now of the car from my phone.

Vendors welcome - with public examples or through PM

Try E1motorsports in Houston. Aadel and Nick can run you through a bunch of ideas for mods.

White car? Go Carbon and RS grill

    4.0TT go APR Stage 1

Want more V8 noise? Modify the exhaust by deleting front pipes and center suitcase. Replace front’s with straight pipe, center with x-pipe.

Don’t get OlyS6 started on subwoofers....

Any ideas on these headlights? Pretty big let down on my first night drive? Would bulbs make a difference? Maybe a different fog bulb ?

I have a brand new facelift black optic rear diffuser. PM me if interested.

Otherwise, vinyl wrap, if done correctly, works well for black optic. I went with OEM black optic trim later, and paid dearly for it.

Wheels are subjective as hell, and nice ones range anywhere from $500 a wheel to $3000 a wheel. Take your pick. Check out madyspop posts, or widebodyfx build thread for some fantastic ideas on what to do with a white S6.

For protective film, many folks go with either Suntek or Expel.

Search this forum for vagcom mods. There are some good ones.

Some inlays are easy to swap, others are difficult.

For any physical mods, do yourself a huge favor and go to https://erwin.audiusa.com/ and get a 1 day subscription for $35. Then go nuts and download all aspects of the shop maual for your car. This includes pretty much any interior or exterior repair and all maintenance procedures.

Many folks powder coat their brake calipers and wheels with great success. I have no idea regarding shops in Houston that do this.

    Performance mods:

Step 1: Biggest bang for buck = Eurocode sway bars and end links. Night and day difference in handling corners, immediately noticeable. AK does not add much, unfortunately.
Step 2: Stage 1 tune, either APR or EPL. APR sets you up nicely if you decide to then get downpipes (which will improve your exhaust sound), since the APR Stage 2 tune comes free with new downpipes. Big immediate noticeable performance difference that will leave you with a perma-grin.
Step 3: You're in Houston. Your intercooler (nothing personal) sucks. Consider either APR or AMS intercooler to replace the crappy OEM one.

This should keep you busy for a bit, unless you want to talk about sound upgrades and/or radar/laser diffuser upgrades.

This is incredibly helpful. Thank you. Any information on the headlights? Looks like upgrading is too expensive but are there any great bulbs to replace them with?

I have a set of OEM LED headlights off of my 2016 S6 boxed up in my garage, since I went with European LEDs to get rid of the amber side marker. I have to admit I don't know what you would need to do regarding programming or if you'd need a new wiring harness in order to use them. Others may be able to chime in on that. I'm afraid I don't know anything about bulbs themselves though. PM me if you're interested in either the diffuser and/or the headlights.

Aadel, mentioned above, is a great go-to for Houston mods.

Modules and harnesses required. Talk to Alex @ Europrice. I sourced everything but the lights through him, just haven't done the swap yet. Requires coding by the dealer so it's not exactly an easy process. I should have mine done this summer.

The Woodlands. Also, your car (saw it on Instagram) inspired me to buy this S6. IMHO - you have the perfect S6. Great build. I will definitely call Aadel as i get in to this.

How do you like the Akrapovik Exhaust? Huge investment...big difference vs the AWE? I had AWE on my s4 and it sounded great but I am finding the "Pay to Play' in the S6 is a little more...I would regret not buying the perfect spec - but I found a 2016 with 14k miles and CPO - so I didn't want to pass it up. Most 16's have 30k+

For LED headlights to work on a car that doesn't already have them, there is a different wiring harness, as well as few modules (fan motor and such) that need to be installed. There is also some programming that needs to happen. I have the OEM LED housings with the LED lights only, as I swapped them directly for a European set of housings with LED lights, which were plug and play for me.

    Appreciate it!

The Akra purchase decision is very subjective. Exhaust note is similar to wheels, different stroke for different folks. That being said, it is absolutely top 3 modifications I've done to my car thus far. It is the best sounding 4.0T I've personally heard (combined with the catted AMS downpipes). I've heard every exhaust option on these cars in person, except the supersprint (I think that's the name), and my consensus is that most systems prioritize volume over tone, most with a fair amount of raspiness (doesn't belong on a luxury sports sedan). The Akra sound is so unique, no rasp at all, very exotic. Is it worth the extra coin over the AWE? To me, yes. To most others, not sure. It was a tough pill to swallow pulling the trigger on the Akra. But after unboxing it, seeing the quality, followed by the first startup, worth every damn penny. It is seriously a work of art. Of those on this forum who have taken the plunge, I've yet to see any regret.

Would be happy to let you hear in person to help in your decision.

Does no justice on the sound but what this clip does show is how clean the note is...no rasp. That 1-2 shift

Holy. Shit. Better than most exotics for sure.

So either way - getting an exhaust sounds like a must. ?

Again, subjective. The sport exhaust is sufficient for many, especially when coupled with downpipes. My old setup (sport exhaust with suitcase muffler replaced with x-pipe + AMS downpipes) was nice but a bit raspy to me. I knew what I was looking for and of all systems I had heard in person, the Akra was the only one that blew me away, as did the price

As Andre stated above, these are factory calipers for 2017 cars with sport package.

Good to know. Really regret not finding a black optic/ LED car - but this was the right combo of $ and sense.

Very expensive to change to LED - pretty much not worth it. Gonna roll with what i have and go from there. Should be fun.

Congrats. I might be in the minority however I really like the old xenon look and was disappointed that my 2016 came with led lights standard. Car looks great.
