    285/45/21 fitment

    Hello Gents,

Just changed to a set of Accelera Iota, fits just fine, no rubbing or spacers. 7 rides back to its original plushness, which is what I missed riding on 40s.

Tires seem nice, though I just drove around town.

Nonetheless, happy with this 600$ setup.

    Cheers,
    Bob

PS: not the best angle, but car looks bit more proper.

I've been considering this size for mine as well, so I really appreciate knowing that they fit and work well.
Have you noticed any loss of torque or speedo variation?
    Love that color, BTW.

Yes, perfect fitment, now I'm actually thinking that we may be able to squeeze a 295/45/21 in there(maybe spacers out in front) for the ultimate beefier look.

Did not drive enough(no HWY) to make a full impression on tires yet, but these may turn out to be a pleasant surprise like the Atturros. There's a bunch of EU Q7/Cayenne guys that swear by them.

Speedo wise I think is 1-2mph difference, I have the Escort Max 360 that shows the speed, spot on the other tires. So nothing crazy or way off here.

    Cheers,
    Bob

Certainly fills the wheels wells but bigger than I'd want to go versus stock. Recommended to stay within 3% and the 285/45R21 are 3.7% bigger and the 295/45R21 would be nearly 5%.

I understand the desire for beef and the reason why I'm swapping out my 285/40R21 for 295/40R21 next week.

    Combo looks great though

Too bad there's no 295/45/21. Love the 45cush!

So, how is handling and traction working out now that I presume you've had more time to drive on them?

I am going to be needing tires pretty soon. I can't imagine going from a 295/35 to 285/45 would lose much traction, though the 3.0TDI is a torque-y beast. Sure it would be a lot more comfortable ride and the price is surely right. Interested to see how they wear.

Where did you buy them and have them installed?

I'm still considering finding some 20" wheels and putting nice tires on them, this 21" "premium" is a load of crap, though they sure look good.

    Hello Gents,
So after some few hundred miles, I'm so far pleased. They're pretty sticky, soft, responsive. Hold well when pushed on ramps, corners. Dry traction, that is, as we got no rain.
Given its "heavy" reputation for devouring tires and brakes, I think I found my summer tire for the 7.

    Cheers,
    Bob

PS: got them from simpletire.com , where I get the Atturros too.
