2004 A4 rear windows not working from master switch

Ok so I just recently purchased an 04 B6 pretty much fully loaded. The front driver window one touch does not work but does roll up and down, the passenger front window will roll up and down but the one touch is hit or miss, neither rear window will work from the master switch. If I reach back I can work the switch and they work just fine. I'm leaning towards the master window switch as being faulty, has anyone else ran across this?

Yes. It sounds like the child lock for the rears is broken. Replace the master switch assembly.

Just curious, but do you have issues with anything else on the driver door besides the window switches? Only other option would be broken wires in the door jam, but I'd think that would be unlikely if only the window switches were affected.

I had a similar issue. The one touch was hit or miss on the passenger side. I ended up just replacing the master switch because it was peeling real bad...but it cured the issue! Give it a shot, I grabbed mine off eBay.

Just the windows. Mirrors work fine, lights come on when opening the door. Locks work

Agree. Just had to replace the master switch on mine for the same reason. Rear windows now work with no issue from the master switch.

2004 A4 rear windows not working from master switch

Silly question - have you tried resetting the auto up/ down function from each window? (Rolling down, holding for a few seconds/ rolling up and holding for a few seconds?).

I have tired it but it didn't work, and the rear windows won't respond to the driver window switch

That happens frequently when the auto up/ down needs to be reset from each of the window switches individually. Front LT, Front RT, Rear LT, Rear RT. But since that’s not it, definitely agree with everyone above.

    Master switch replacement.

    Good luck dude!

You can reset the full open/close with any window switch, it doesn't have to be each individual door. I've only ever reset it from the driver's door switch.

    Typically, yes.

But I’ve had issues with customer’s Audi’s where I’ve had to reset them individually because it wasn’t adapting from the master switch, especially if you can’t actually roll the rear windows down from that switch itself to do the reset.
