Will, you ARE keeping the S3, right? I'm relocating from Seattle down to OC late June, would love to stop by the Bay Area (driving my S3 down) and check out your S3 and S4 if it arrives early. ;-)

Nice spec!! White is usually my color but it looks like I’ll be going with Daytona with the magma red interior this time.

Thanks Mops! Not sure about going just the lowering springs route this time around, but giving it a shot. If it starts to wear out the dampers and suck, we should have some PSS10s available by then, and I saw iSWEEP already has a DCC Canceler Kit for the b9.

Been eyeballing Daytona Grey lately, looks so good, maybe next time. It was between nogaro blue and glacier white when I ordered. I'm boring, so I went the boring route again! lol.

That's the model color I'm also buying. I'm just waiting for my settlement to come in and I cant wait to pick her up and start with mods. I really cant wait for APR to come out with a tune for these B9s.. I'm definitely gonna be following this thread.

I actually ended up getting Glacier White Magma Red with Nav,Sport, Black optic and carbon. The dealer that had the Daytona I wanted sold it before I could get it. I have a Glacier White S3 now and I love white cars so not too disappointed. I did want to change it up a little bit this time but oh well.

Subbing to this one. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

One question though, why not order the carbon bits on the car from the factory instead of retrofitting them (mirrors & spoiler)?

    Hey hey!

The offering was pulled not long after I ordered mine. Not 100% sure why, but I'm thinking supply became an issue, sorta like with S-Line exterior parts with the B8 cars years ago.

Can't wait to see where you take this one!!

How complicated is the process for the Nanolex? I'm fairly knowledgeable in detailing but I've never attempted ceramic coating. Mine needs it bad.

Here's a video for the pro-grade stuff, Si3D. SiShield is similar, just less concentrated, which is supposed to make it easier to work with I guess?

Looks simple to me. I think the trick is:

    1. making sure you don't take a beer break in the middle of working on a section.
    2. keeping the size of the sections as recommend (not going too big), not applying in the sun, not applying when it's too hot, etc...
    3. having the right lighting to make sure you spread it well and to not leave extra product behind, since it takes paint correction to remove leftovers.

Using something like HydroSilex is way simpler and more forgiving of mistakes, but this doesn't seem too bad if you are careful.

Interesting... I may just attempt this. Doesn't seem too bad as long as you take your time.

Better pictures later, but I got the carbon on this morning. I’m going to have sore fingers soon.

    Also front plate delete.

Getting the ambers off looks like a pain, probably tackle that tonight, then spacers, then front tower struct, then 034 will do the suspension

How difficult were the mirror caps to install?

The painted reflectors were more difficult to remove than the ones on my BMW, but manageable. Just had to pull back the bumper skin a bit.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd try and see if I could get a closely matching vinyl decal. The Tag painted reflectors I received for Glacier White Metallic does not match (it's a darker shade than the car).

The darker tones is my hesitation with the Tag reflectors. Did you have to take off the wheels to get to it? I’ve noticed most people have removed the bumper to install however Tag mentioned that while it would make install easier it wouldn’t be necessary.

A little finicky, but way easier than the reflectors, what a pain those are!

Test fit, still need to remove goo. Not a perfect color match, but better than orange!

I removed the black plastic rivet (top left) and was able to pull the bumper skin away from the car a bit to give me a little more room to remove/install the reflectors. But like I said, next time I'm just going to a vinyl decal shop and seeing if they have a close enough match to the car...
