Where can an American buy a genuine European B5 RS4 online?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've looked before, but can't find any B5 RS4's on things like ebay.co, craigslist, etc.
I am wondering where they are and how i can find them online. In case I wanted to purchase and import one...

Have you tried Canada? Their import laws are a bit less strict than the US (meaning you don't need to wait as long) and so a few could have made it that way.

Duties, taxes, emissions, safety, shipping, documentation and legal services makes it cost prohibitive.
I estimated $10,000+ when I was looking into it for myself.

Yeah, I was thinking that a Widebody kit + install is in that ballpark, so why not look into a legit RS4 as an alternative.

Didn't realize they held their value so well

Yup, I don't think that its coincidence that the wide body kit and import fees are are nearly the same price...

Mine as well get something for your money with the wide body kit and new paint and not piss your money away on legal hassles just because you want something that you cant have..

Best of luck with which ever route you go, wide-body avants are gangster.

Contact AZeuros in Arizona. They have one in stock, I’m not sure what spec it is. But they are a registered importer and have brought a few over already

I don’t think it’s on their website, you’d have to contact them. They also have a c5 rs6 avant that they’re putting up for sale soon

B5 Rs4 (and other versions of 00-01 A4/S4) have been approved for importation since 2003 since they were determined to be similar enough to the US vehicles in regards to safety equipment . There are things you still need to do to bring them into compliance like install US lights.

Point being we've had them theoretically longer than Canada unless they also allowed some sort of similar enough exemption. Yes Canada is 15 years for importing a car without bringing it into compliance so in theory there may be some running around Canada not converted in the past 3 years, that may make the transaction easier but likely would cost more in the long run.

You buy them either from Japan (check out brave imports http://www.braveautointernational.jp/ ) and yes he speaks perfect English - he also has a YouTube channel or directly from Germany. Take a look at www.mobile.de (you change the language to English) also www.autoscout24.com to search the whole of Europe. Shipping is approx $1500-2000 port to port.

    Hope this helps.

It’s an import from Germany Has the rare 50/50 cloth & leather seats. Seems like a nice car but not many photos.

Yeah, bringing a RHD in would just be plain dumb.

Brave is nice to browse through auctions.

RS4 is still quite expensive. Ppl have been selling them for ~$50k CAD... which is almost 40k USD.

A lot of people have RHD cars over here, it is really not a hassle.

If your gonna spend that much to buy one why would buy a RHD? Also with GBP being stronger then the Euro, USD or CAD you’ll spend more.

IMHO id buy either directly from Germany or Japan(euro import) if I was looking to go down this route of importing the car to US or Canada.
