    Disabling "Cylinder On Demand"

So it seems like this feature puts a lot of stress on the engine mounts. I recently scanned my car and got a code to replace the mounts. Since I'm no longer under warranty this expense will come out of pocket and I would like to see if anyone here has the means or resources to disable this COD feature to prolong the life of the new mounts that I'll be installing.

I have VCDS but from what info I've gathered only tuners have access to this particular function.

    Thanks in advance

What is your basis for COD destroying mounts? Audi is legendary for terrible mount designs that fail prematurely. Get the 034 solid mounts and I bet you never have to do it again.

I got lucky. When I had my S6, one of the motor mounts went at 45k miles. Dealer replaced both as a precautionary measure under warranty.

I had the street density version on my B5. The NVH level was no different than the comparatively stiffer OEM V6 mounts (vs 1.8T) I had used prior that had also failed.

I can disable COD temporarily with OBDeleven on my C7 S6. Two problems: The engine light activated and it reverts to the original setting when the ingnition is turned off.
I am going to try to find a permanent tuning solution and notify later.

It's well documented. Engine vibrates a lot under COD, so mounts 'fire up' every crank rotation to quell the vibes. Without COD, they'd last way longer. What craps out is the membrane holding the fluid, which fatigues from overuse over time, apparently. I'd also like to disable COD, but seems only a tune can achieve that, which I will not do under warranty.
