Shopping for B8 S5s right now and I am seeing cars with both things written on the head unit in the center stack.
I have searched around and I can't quite figure out what the difference is.
One car is a 2009, completely loaded with every factory option except adaptive cruise, and it says "CD Changer".
Other lower spec cars sometimes say "Multimedia".
I've never come across a car with the radio buttons up on the stack, for either one they are always down by the shifter (I read somewhere that's a sign of the early units that you don't want).
If it says "CD Changer" can I assume it does not have the SD card slots under the flap?
Or does "Multimedia" indicate the ability to play DVDs?
I do know that cars that say "CD Changer" still have the MMI in the glove box.
Or did they just change "CD Changer" to Multimedia" one year because CD changers are sooooooo 1997 and that little placard doesn't actually indicate a change in equipment?
Sorry..I tried starting a couple of different threads on this but still can't quite nail down a specific answer to this question.
Thanks,
D
