    Real world gas mileage?

What kind of real world gas mileage is everyone getting?

On full highway driving at around 80mph I was able to squeeze ~350 miles out of a tank. This most recent fill up with city driving I'm going to end up ~240 to a tank. I usually drive in manual "S" mode with a slighty heavy foot.

I get between 210 and 240. If I'm careful and use mostly comfort, I've seen 250-260. My drive is a mix of street and highway with random traffic. Freeway driving shows theoretically high mpg but my street and traffic time must ruin the average.

I just hit 1000 miles and the engine seems to be loosening up. Mileage has increased. On my 30 mile trip (mostly highway) to work I'm getting ~27 mpg now. In my mk7 GTI I would get 32 mpg. Obviously that numbers drops if I'm having fun or a bad day. :-)

i do a lot of highway and have seen as high as 30mpg average for an all highway trip, but average close to 23mpg combined driving

i would say its doing great for the power it has :)

On a 50km trip with some highway I was able to get 7.0l pr 100km which should be like 33.6mpg.
I started driving normal but when I notice the low usage I really tried my best to keep it down. I was actually at 6.9l but just before I reached my target it tipped over to 7.0l

My long term memory which I reset when I took delivery, states 23.7 mpg, and I have 4920 miles on the car total. I was also all over town this morning on the freeways and that average was between 27 and 30 mpg.

What is gas mileage? Is that something prius owners talk about? Lol just kidding but honestly I’ve never even looked. I’m scared too!! My dad gives me shit because I have no idea what gas costs. Guess it doesn’t matter to me. It needs gas, I enjoy driving like a pissed off teenager, and I can make more money so I just enjoy the car :-)

Same here, works out to about 20 mpg. I don’t run it right down usually have about 50-80km to go on the little ticker thing. I do wish the car had a bigger tank, seems pretty small.

I meant to make this comment before, if you have the awd in dynamic mode it definitely seems to make it substantially worse. But who cares lol.

Yip... this is a huge effect... in comfort Quattro it is basically fwd unless you get into it where as Dynamic Quattro it's full time awd I'm pretty sure

Good to know, I always drive in dynamic and switch between S and D on the fly. I am driving down to Calgary this Sunday for an autoX, hopefully comfort mode can save me a little gas on the 600km trip. I was able to get 7.4L/100km today on a trip to the accountant. It's the best I've seen so far. I'm at 2400km. This is easily better than the best I ever saw in any of my STIs (9.0L)

So comfort better for roll racing? Less drive terrain loss?

Dynamic than I do in Comfort
I got 32 mpg cruising at 80 mph on
a 100 mile straight run from Daytona.
I average 24 mpg running in dynamic mode.

On a straight highway cruise without traffic and cruising at around 75 mph, I got about 29 mpg. That being said, most of my driving is considered city, and I'm always in the gas, so consequently I get around 16-17 mpg :P

My long term average is 17.7MPG pretty much all city driving 35-55 MPH and as soon as the oil is 180+ I drive it like I stole it in Dynamic Sport Manual mode. I very rarely launch it but 1st through 2nd gear pulls whenever traffic is open enough.

wait your car goes into 7th gear in sport mode? mine never does at least not in the city. don't know what MPH is needed for it to shift to 7th.

my gas milage is like 18-20mpg on a good civilized day lol.

Edit: nevermind it only does it at those high speeds. Just tried it now. No “S” in city for me lol

11.5 l/100 (20.5 mpg) mainly city, more like 7.5-8.0 highway depending on speed. 330-350 per tank fill up around 50-80 km to go.
