Just got a 2002 Audi A4 I want to understand the upgrades

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I just bought a 2002 Audi A4 and it came in super mint condition not a spec of rust or dust and 160,000km mileage... It also had pre-installed Non-standard part list. I wanted someone to explain to me what each one is please if you do not mind. Still a new car owner and excited to learn! Thanks

    -BB catback stainless exhaust

    -304 Motorsport billet PCV

    -ECS Tuning billet thermostat

    -ECS Tuning silicone hoses

    -RS4 rear sway bar

    -Neuspeed short shifter

    -Neuspeed snub mount

    -TT diverter valve

-2.0T ignition coils with billet adapters

    -Bosch (TT) 250cc injectors

    -Tapp stage II tune

    Thanks again

    -ECS Tuning billet thermostat

thermostat that was plastic that ecs made a metal billet version of because it commonly failed also

    -ECS Tuning silicone hoses

usually these are hoses leading into and out of the turbo. standard hoses collapse under pressure. could also be an intake hose

    -RS4 rear sway bar

    -Neuspeed short shifter

to give u a better hand held shifting experience with shorter more precise throws of the knob

    -Neuspeed snub mount

the mount your block basically connects to the subframe. tightens up the driveline feel

    -TT diverter valve

think of this like the boost valve. the standard ones fails under tuned added pressure so people commonly upgrade to the tt one also commonly called 710n valve

-2.0T ignition coils with billet adapters

these are slightly longer coilpacks that go over your sparkplugs and need adapters to fit in the extra height. they allow for a colder and better spark

    -Bosch (TT) 250cc injectors

these are commonly used in stage 2 tunes and come off a tt

    -Tapp stage II tune

never heard of this brand but like all stage 2 tunes your ecu tune has probably made your car 1000x more fun.

Welcome to AZ. I encourage your next to just do a simple google search of your questions and you will the sites where all those products are sold with exact descriptions of what they do. The b6 section in particular has a plethora of information and you just got to search for it sometimes. But believe me, its all there.

Itsmat33 was very helpful. Thanks for the info. I know I should Google more but I'm a total noob when it comes to car parts and abbreviations. I guess I got too excited with the thought of owning this few car and brain farted real hard.

    Cheers

Kal, let me know if you need anything scanned on your car. I'm in Ottawa too and have a few B6s on the go.

I'll need to get an updated picture, as two more have been added to the fleet since.

Moar pics, w/ suspension/wheel/tire specs, of that black A4 please. Now you got me re-re considering wheel choice. Going back and forth between S5 Rotors or Peelers. Chrome trim and mirrors make perfect compliment to those wheels.
And OP, welcome to Audizine community.

    Ask and you shall receive:

Just realized they were all ass shots, heres a front:

They are B8 S4 peelers, 19"x8.5" ET43 wrapped with 255/35/19. But they are gone, and its riding/stored on some sewer caps for the moment, while I get some S5 peelers refinished. The S5s are 19"x9" ET33 wrapped in the same. They have the offset I'm looking for without the use of spacer and are more concaved. Should have it all out and ready for the end of the month, cant wait really!

Suspension is all OEM S4 gear, with the exception of the some B5 perches in the front(3/8" drop about). No spacers.

Yea, there is no doubt it is tight! Now that I think about it, it did rub one the knuckle a bit. I wouldnt do it again, but it was temporary to get me through the end of the season, and the tires were already pooched.
    This is my silver A4:

The silver A4 has RS4 rep wheels(has Audi center caps) is 19"x8.5" ET38 with 255/35/19 and no issues at all. I should mention, my S4 rubs on big dips in the road at the front upper fender screw. But no where in the back, or when locked during turning. I will be removing the screw for the S5 peelers and have no concerns that they will hit the knuckle. I have yet to experience any rubbing with the A4 that is on the OEM sport suspension.

I've also never seen a non aluminum trunk trim from the factory. Only reason I havent blacked it out is because it matches the windows.
