    Oil pressure switch replacement

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've been getting the "Switch off engine! Oil Pressure too low" warning. Dealer says I need a new pressure switch. What part and what's the typical cost for replacing this?

    Any DIY article available?

    Thanks.

Real easy to do. Part at the dealer cost about $20-30. Forgot what size socket, just make sure it’s a deep socket. It’s next to the oil filter. Should not take you more than 10mins to change. IMG_1253.jpg

So this is the only pressure switch that send the message or are they referring to something else?
    Thanks.

Both are on the car...the brown is the reduced pressure switch and the blue is the oil sender located a bit lower.

The dealer gave you the part number for the correct switch.

Slightly off topic, but... anyone know how that connector gets removed from the switch itself? When I pulled the intake to decode my valve stems, I couldn't figure out how to remove the connector. Squeeze the tab with the notch in it?

Looking at the part, seems like there's one side that locks into the plug. I would suggest squeezing the connector or pry it off with a small screw driver? Haven't done it yet as I'm still waiting for the part .

It's a common style connector. There's a small tab with a slot in it at the top. Gently pull back on that tab which lifts the internal lock tab and releases the connector. With the other hand pull the connector free.

It was very simple actually. look at the pic above. you see the opening on the top part of the black connector? slide a flat screwdriver or even a key and pry it up gently, the connection will release as you pull up.
