Anyone Plasti-Dip only the grill (no chrome) on F/L A5?

The grill on my '14 A5 has been peeling, it seems like a manufacturer defect where the paint didn't adhere properly but not covered through Audi. Started with a few small spots, now several spots.

Thinking of replacing or painting. Not a huge fan of Plasti-Dip but seems like it could work in this instance. Anyone have photos of only the grill plastidipped but the chrome around grill and badge left as-is?

Just pony up the money and get a new badge or a PAINTED black badge. Plastidip will look cheap.

I was referring to the grill. Leaving the badge as-is.

I dipped my S5 grille last Summer, held up pretty good over the Winter and dozens of car washes. Go for it!

Oh gotcha. Either way you won't be able to replicate a glossy OEM look. (even with the glossifier)

plastidip will hold up better than paint. paint will get chipped. plastidip is rubbery and can bounce it off. downside is its a bit harder to maintain during wash with the risk of fibers catching on. its cheap enough to repeat the process though

Try Flexidip instead of Plastidip. I've used both products, and after using Flexidip I can honestly say I don't see myself going back to Plastidip ever again. Plastidip got absolutely beat to hell on my STI lip, but Flexidip was a lot more resilient to rocks, and I never have lint issues with Flexidip either. It also seems more resilient against heat. Plastidip tends to get very brittle, and then becomes very hard to remove. Flexidip maintains it's rubbery trait, and is much easier to peel off.
