Hello all, I'm in the process of swapping out A7 seats for A8 seats with massage. How do I remove component protection and who do I contact?

If you have a contact, please PM me

You need to visit a dealership unfortunately. Component protection is on some parts to ensure they aren't stolen items. The seats essentially need to be paired to your VIN in simple terms.

If your lucky some Indie shops can do it. I use one out here cause the dealers are completely incompetent. Two dealers couldn't remove CP but the Indie Shop could, they get all my business now.

How long does removal of component protection take? I'm tempted to call the dealership, but I don't want them ripping me off.

Been calling around, a shop told me I need the old module to pull off coding then they can paste it into the A8 module? Doesn't sound right?

Just got a call back from a shop, they are charging $100, but don't know how to exactly do it. They state they have the factory scan tool, they'll try to remove it. If it takes an hour and they can't do it, they'll still charge me.

Does anyone know the process in removing CP?

Don’t take it to an independent, you need a login to remove the protection. If they don’t have the login code then you’ll be wasting 100 bucks...

Also, I’m not sure I f it possible to do with a VagCom, might be factory tool only.. not 100% sure
