    Accord better than the A4?

Motortrend thinks the new Accord is slightly better than an A4 Ultra. I don't think this is really a slam against Audi, but a real kudos to Honda.

i drove the new accord after buying the audi. i've owned hondas/acuras my whole life

    1. the 2018 accord is nice, a step up from the 2017 however the styling of the rear won't grow on me and i find it basically hideous.
    2. the accord drives great and you feel like your a part of the car, however it lacks alot of that special feel i get when i'm in the audi as i look around the interior.

i guess the accord is better in possibly value for what you get based of buying new vs audi new. however if you can find a 2017 or 2018 used audi with low miles you are in the same price range of a new accord..

i was in the market for a gas saver and test the drove the accord. I like the new body style and updates done to it. The sport 2.0T has excellent pick up ! and felt great driving. I was out of town and the wife purchased a 17 A4 FWD not realizing it wasn't quattro. This car is pretty solid on gas and at 252hp its still fun plus I'm averaging around 37mpg . Comfort wise its pretty solid but the accord has it beat , interior leather goes to Audi. Residual value will almost always goto honda.

The problem I have with this comparison is that they are not comparing apples to apples. Yes they are both FWD 2.0 cars, but one is top of the line and the other is bottom of the barrel.

yes I was looking for a few months and was deciding between the a4, cts , or chevy ss and wife found a good price on the A4. I took to long to find what I wanted at a solid price and wife went ahead with the purchase. She sent me a text saying here is your new car, I was tired of you looking. Would like to have quattro but this is mainly a commuter car for the time being, family car is the 17 runner which we both love.

I have no issue with the comparison. What is more apples to apples than PRICE?

See what ~$35k gets you at Honda vs. Audi. Both sedans are FWD 2.0T 190hp with a 111in wheelbase. Pretty fair. Just happens that the Honda wins in almost every objective category. Its the better car. In the past a base Audi would still have superior interior quality and easily out-perform the Honda, but now that gap is essentially gone, kudos to them. Now the only reason you would buy a base Audi is for style, brand image, etc. Y

Now if you did compare a loaded $50k A4 to a loaded $35k Accord, of course the Audi will win...its 30% more expensive. Quattro, the higher output 2.0T, and all the options make it a far better car. But you're paying a premium for it.

I read the article, I thought it was a 190hp A4 VS 250hp Honda. That's not apples to apples. I know the article was based on price (base A4 vs loaded Accord). Im sure a different conclusion loaded A4 vs loaded Accord, if money isn't a factor. I think they are cars target to two different people...

I've driven all of them at length either as rentals, loaners, or my own (A4 Prestige, Quattro, Sport package, First Edition...as if that means a damn thing) and all I have to say is that a fully loaded, higher output, Quattro Audi equipped like mine is far different from the Ultra line or any other lesser-optioned car. It really is amazing how different they are. You can compare on prices all day long. Doesn't really mean much though. You have to compare based on options and then highlight the delta.
