K&N cleaning kit on AFe filter?

I have a blue AFe filter, I would like to clean it and apply red K&N oil. Did anyone try that? Will my AFe filter tune red or will it tune blue/red 😬?

Aren't the blue AFE filters oil free? If the AFE filter you have is intended to be oiled, I would assume the K&N cleaning kit + oil would be fine. I'd guess it would turn purple.

Yes, the AFe filter that I have is the oil version. I am just not sure if the filter material itself is blue or it just the oil that’s blue. Like my old Eurocode filter, it’s only the oil that is red, once cleaned the filter itself is white.

It's fine. I've used the k&n filter cleaner on many types of oiled filters. In the end it's just soap and oil.

Is the Afe filter composite blue or white? If it’s white, I put K&N oil it will be red. If the filter itself is blue and put red oil, it will turn purple or whatever mix it will come out. The concern is more aesthetic than functionality.

The blue will wash out and leave the filter white, it's natural color. The K&N oil is red, as will your filter be after you re-oil.

Good to know. I won’t need the buy their over charged AFe cleaning kit since K&N can do the job more much less💵.Not blue but will do😁
