I was told that the Audi suspension will adapt to the bigger size automatically. Is this true? Will this size damage my quattro?

245/45/18 is one of the standard sizes for the A6. I have an A7 with 265/35/20 summers that are larger than the 245's by 3/4 of an inch or so and am using the 245's for the winter.
From what I've been told as long as all 4 are the same size that's all that matters as the diameter size is just slower or faster rotation at an RPM.
