Anyone use Prolong Engine Treatment? Safe?

I was wondering if any of you guys have experience with it. I'm planning to combine it with Mobil 1 FS 0W-40.

I was reading the 540ratblog and this specific combination wasn't mentioned.

The main concern I have is if it's safe for our engine in the long term and if it's a good idea to even combine with already good oil.

I like idea that it makes a paraffin coating on the metal surfaces to aid in protection.

Let me know what y'all think.

I've used the Liqui-Moly MoS2 Engine Additive and have been happy with that--did work to slightly quiet and smooth down the engine. Since MoS2 is a known lubricant, I am more than comfortable adding it to the engine. Transmission, no, since there are brass synchros (at least in mine).

I've also tried their Ceratec formulation but could not tell if it made much of a difference. No ill effects at all. Liked the idea of a thin ceramic coating to reduce wear.

I'll look into those too man. I've herd good things from a quick search online.

I'm wondering if anyone here has experience/opinions on the prolong.

The main concern I have is the chlorine and copper interaction. Do our bearings have exposed copper?

Found this on the prolong website:

"Unstable chlorinated-paraffin (“CP”) presents the potential for corrosion when heated. CP lubrication is very effective, but in the heated conditions of an engine, the short-chain molecular properties can break down, forming hydrochloric acid. Prolong has a stable technology not found in any other product that is extremely efficient and safe. This technology has been time tested (over 18 years) and in millions of engines."

Seems like this product shouldn't cause acid corrosion?

Okay so I changed my oil and added prolong. After an hour, the car is noticeably smoother. Hell no it's not placebo. It's obvious.

There is a possibility it's because of the new oil but I change my oil every 3000 miles and always use top shelf stuff. So I don't think it's just because of new oil.

Anyways, don't take my word for it. Just my experience.
