seriously: where do i find wheel paint codes?

oh, hey, hi! i haven't been on here in a bit, as i recently moved from California to Maryland. with that came winter wheels and tires (wtf?), so i'd like to fix up my stock rims before putting them back on.

like other folks, i'm having a devil of a time finding the wheel paint code for my 7-spoke 2007 B7 S4 wheels. they look something like this...



...except with more curb rash, because that pic was taken five years ago.

as far as i can tell:

• the paint code is not included in the spare tire well sticker.
• "Avus Silver" (LY7J/C2) may not be the same as these wheels.
• the Wurth paint is not an exact match.
• there's also Audi's "Crystal Silver Metallic" (LY7T/C6) which is labeled as a wheel paint by Paint Scratch, but not for 2007 S4s.
• Audi wheel touch-up paint is not worth the money, and may only be available in Avus Silver.
• Paint manufacturers don't typically label body and wheel paints differently.
• i'm not going to pay someone $100/wheel for refinishing.

so, has anyone actually refinished the exact wheels in the photo above? or, do you know how i can find out officially-listed real-deal hand-to-Ingolstadt Audi wheel paint codes?

aha, that's a pretty great page! if all that info came from ETKA then i should see what info it has for my exact wheels...

...which are 8E0 601 025 AL with a color code of 8Z8! (this was a good page to verify the part code.)

now the question is how to actually find the stuff in the US since i only see European sites coming up in searches. none of the places i've been checking list it, so i may need to special order it.

update: it looks like VAG wheel paint codes are not available in US paint formula databases - not even for special order. i'm going to check with Audi for the hell of it (even tho a 150mL spray can is almost comically small), as well as PPG, but i'll probably have to order it via ground/sea shipping from DE or the UK.

if anyone has any leads on a paint supplier in NA with VW/Audi wheel paint, please let me know!

I found a place that made up a can of the Titanium Grey color for the Ti package wheels, L8AU. They didn’t have any issues with the code, so hopefully they’ll be able to sort you out. I’ll have a look when I’m not having to stop my 2yo from killing himself.
