    2018 RS3 Sedan paddle replacement

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I bought replacement paddles but can't seem to find any how-to's for the 2018 RS3 sedan.

Anybody have any info on this procedure?

I assume I need to take off the airbag but not 100% sure.

I've been wondering just how expensive a set of factory Lamborghini Urus paddles would be. It's clearly an Audi sourced steering wheel, but with proper metal shift paddles.

2018 Audi RS3 (Audi Exclusive Color, Black w/ Crescendo Red Stitching, Technology Package, Dynamic Package, Black Optic Package, RS Design Package, RS Carbon Decorative Inlays, Front Plate Delete)

    2010 Audi A4 Prestige S-Line
Modifications: (APR Stage 2 ECU Flash 93 octane, APR Downpipe, Michelin Pilot Super Sport, S-Line Logo puddle lights)

Hah I was not the only one wondering if it would be possible or not!!! Hope someone daring would try it out for us.

Another option would be the paddles from the Bentley Bantayga. Again it's very obviously a Audi sourced steering wheel with what appears to be metal shift paddles.

Audi should be using metal paddles on rs cars... it's what your hand touches and likely wouldn't cost much extra per car... little things make a difference

Well since even the R8 has the same plastic nonsense the metal paddle inclusion point must be somewhere north of $200,000.

I would suggest the GT3 Paddles instead , it's also basically the same wheel. Without buttons to get in the way of you driving

Those would be great, I'm not a fan of the ones that are any bigger than that.

My 2011 Lancer GTS (lol) had aluminium paddles so it absolutely blows my mind that none of these RS models have them. It's the only thing I'm disappointed with when it comes to my RS3.

Now we need someone to be the test bed and try a set for us on our cars I know I'm down for a replacement and would prefer replacing the entire paddle instead of trying paddle covers. I can't stand the plastic ones these cars come with!!

I'm in for GT3 paddles but knowing Porsche tax they are probably $800 for the pair if they are even available separately from the wheel.

These look a lot easier to put on and they don't screw into the paddle shifters either. The only thing I can do without is the logo and possibly if the little rubber design inserts came as a solid red color to match the RS package. I think it would be a good idea to modify the oem paddle shifter mechanics to give a more tactile click.

They are the Neidfaktor carbon fiber paddles from TAG Motorsport. I don't have them yet.

I know they are crazy expensive but I couldn't help myself. 😱

They have the proper attachment, we should lobby them to make a cleaner looking paddle with the promise of enough orders. It's strange that the TT RS paddles aren't just the same as RS 3 (in appearance)

Pretty sure they're exactly the same as the RS3. The picture above shows a standard TT, not the RS. Same part for the TTRS/RS3/R8.

Does the RS3 have the brushed aluminium trim on the paddles?
I don't believe the R8 does but the TT RS does. AFAIK they are all the same size, just different design (appearance)

Awesome, would love to see pics when you have them installed! I'm curious as to how they'll change the paddle click feel when pressed.

Well, my car won’t be here for months so... there’s that. LOL

I typically have a few parts to add whenever a new car arrives.

Does anyone else also want a different tactile feel to the switch? Right now it feels like I'm pushing the auto button on the climate control (well, it's a little more substantial than that) but I would love a full paddle / button replacement that makes the "click" much more substantial feeling. I haven't driven the Lamborghini Uranus, but those look like there would be a very satisfying click...maybe even a mild ka-chunk to the shift action.

you can also see if you can find an R8 removal video as well
    Thanks for this suggestion.

One video said to disconnect the battery AND remove the fuse.

Should I have to remove the fuse and can anyone tell me which fuse controls the airbag?

Not sure if they are. I'd go for them too, if someone would confirm fitment. What are the options for paddles that are interchangable anyway? Not paddles that just tape onto existing ones, that looks too cheap to me.

The Racingline paddles are the only ones I like. They silver ones kinda look like the metal door handles. They look like they could be OEM. IMO, all the paddle extenders look Uber ghetto.
