Anyone remove the sunvisor airbag stickers?

Typically these stickers come off easily with 90% isopropyl alcohol. I’ve done it this way for years. The airbag stickers on the MKIII sunvisors are not coming off with this method. One difference I do see is that these seem to be foil stickers, or at least it looks like it- metallic flecks were visible when I scraped off a tiny bit with an Xacto knife. This may be why the solvent doesn’t penetrate when soaked, even for long periods.

Has anyone removed these stickers? They drive me nuts.

The stickers in recent model Audis seems to be something more permanent compared to just stickers. I suspect that they were silk-screened using something other than ordinary paint. Definitely something that cannot be removed with 100% Isopropyl Alcohol which used to be effective with older model VW/Audi Sunvisor Stickers.

Here's a thread from AW discussing this same issue: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-...icker-2906208/

It’s a “sticker” or appliqué for sure, not paint or silkscreen. The difference is it’s not permeable like the old style. I’ve confirmed just now with a 10x loupe that it is foil-backed. So it’s not coming off cleanly, if at all. Hmm. A challenge.

Wouldn’t it be easy just to wrap the entire thing?

Remove the stickers? You living life on the edge....I bet you removed the tags off your pillows on your bed too? All kidding aside, I like a clean looking car without all those stickers too....We all know why they are there which is sad to start with but it is what it is. I've had some of the stickers under the hood come off with just me blowing the engine dry with my Master Blaster....I had to call the dealer to find out what oil it is suppose to have because that sticker came off right away.

Post pics of the cleaned looked when your done.

Another option is just covering the stickers. Find a self adhesive vinyl that matches the texture of the visors, cut out rectangles 1/4 larger than the stickers, slightly round the corners and apply. I did this in one of my cars, it was hard to tell apart.

I’ve never really considered stickers or wraps because I am not confident the look will be good enough for me. A mis-match of color, sheen or texture would bother me too much.

How about alcantara stitched to match the seats.

I thought people just replaced them with Euro spec visors which don't have the sticker.

Hmm, where would one source such a thing? I’m thinking it would cost beyond my comfort level, though.

I’m happy you looked into this. There’s a big thread on a VW site and I was gonna have at. Folks over there who failed left a real mess. A vendor sells blackish stickers to cover the yellow but they say VW on them. OCD guys won’t dig it

IMO you might as well wrap the whole thing with Alcantara. Not sure if the option is feasible. Good thing I don't particularly care about it.
