Brisk or NGK spark Plug ?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I'm due for a service this spring. Should I re-order NGK oem plug or go for Brisk ? Apparently, this plug is the sh*t to buy. Anyone has supporting data for this ? Are these silver plug good for north weather ? ( -20celcius )

    Let's discuss :)

I'm been running the Brisk plugs for a couple months now, no issues whatsoever. I'm in Orlando, FL so no clue about -20c weather ;)

NGK'S will last longer, due to the metal's higher density. This higher density may also have a longer peak performance lifespan, as the hard edges will stay in tact longer (electricity likes to jump to sharp edges).

Brisk uses silver, which is far superior at carrying a stronger spark. Roughly, Brisks should last 2-3x longer than copper, but half as long as stock NGK's.

Here are the conductivity numbers of the different metals available for spark plugs:
    Platinum 70 k
    Nickel 91 k
    Iridium 147 k
    Copper is 401 k
    Silver is 429 k

I just put mine in at 50k miles over the stockers on DP. Huge gain in 'peppyness', but it is hard to know how much of that was due to silver being a far superior conductor, vs to going from old plugs that were incorrectly gapped for DP, to new correctly gapped plugs.

I am finally getting my VAGCOM, back from my buddy tomorrow evening. I am dying to do some logging. I think S4matty had great logs, on them.

My friend Geoff has been running his for 1.5yrs now on same set and no issues at all.
I was having issues with mine but ended up being 2 bad coils.
    You will love these plugs
There's a noticeable difference in response with them over stock plugs.

You would want the DR10YS then
That works out to a 9 heat range in ngk.
My car is a 2010 and came with 7's stock and seems very happy with the uc 104 file.
So I already jumped 1 step colder using the DR12'S
I'm going to try the 10's soon though and see how she likes them
