    Ok guys how's everyone doing.

I traced a problem of my audi a4 b6 2002 3.0 Quattro to a burnt line inside my ecu. I am trying to rewire since no component is burnt just the 2 lines from the clip cables or whatever you call it.

    See pictures.

I am trying to rewire so as to feed or link or connect burnt part to there correct paths. But i will need pictures so as to verify and solder to solve my issues. Trying to save cost here all help needed. If you have inputs or you've had similar burn or damage or just pictures of this type of ecu or other type of same model. It will do. 20180302_083819.jpg20180302_083814.jpg20180302_083810.jpg20180302_083802.jpg20180302_083751.jpg20180302_083738.jpg20180302_083724.jpg20180302_083706.jpg thanks

I’ve got a spare B6 3.0 ECU I could let you have cheap.

If you’ve got burnt tracks, the chances are there’ll be component damage, too. They don’t have to display burn marks to be fried.

I have a spare 3.0 ecu at home that I was going to use to for tuning. If nobody gets a pic, I'll try to get a pic for you.

Though, I do agree, I think a new ecu would be better.

Ebay is not a bad call for a used ECU. This one is listed for £48 and shipping is around £10. All for about $79 US. Lots of used ECU's to be had. You will need to match the SKC old to new. A read of the EEprom should do it. Also, it would be good to root cause the failure. Was it a component on the ECU or something it connected to.

The issue is my a/c blower stopped working and i get epc light too. Its the ecu. Theres a burn from the picture above. That's why i want to repair first but i guess I'll order on ebay.

Meanwhile i have to ask. When i get a new ecu of same part number will i just install and drive straight away or i have to copy coding from old to new only.

I don't know what skc or eeprom is. But i have access to only vas5054a

SKC is the secret key code. Lots of ways to do this.

I just did my manually last week using a hex editor a few programs I downloaded a $10 cable and an old PC.

guessing you've got at least one chip fried, and the only place to get many of those is.. in another ecu.

What is the pin number of the smoked trace.

I had the proper size bits at work and managed to open my ECU. Got some pics but for some reason they're not uploading to the site.

I don't want to use Photobucket because they suck now.

I guess I'll try uploading them on my computer when I get home from work.

Ok so i soldered a cable strand and with the help of the picture.
Though i must confess despite the fact that they are same ecu, the circuit paths are slightly different so its not apple for Apple. But i tried and soldered and upon testing my epc light went off and my a/c blower worked.

But after few starts and stops same problem surfaced.

I believe I have an AVK 3.0, and it's an 04 model year.

I don't know if the 02 3.0 was an AVK as well or if it was different.

I don't know if that even matters.

The ecu number I have is 8E0909559L.

I'm not sure what the difference is between mine and yours.

Sorry it didn't fix your problems.

Are you kidding :D of course it solved the problem.

i removed and checked and i saw a cut strand. i used a thicker strand and so faR my epc light is off and car runs smooth without hesitation. no more limp mode. although my A/C blower/Fan isn't working yet but i can live with it for now.

i will check other stuffs and work towards getting another ECU.
    Thanks

Sounds like a problem with the keyfob. Starting and dying after a second is usually due to immobilizer. I don't think that would happen if the battery in the key fob died, but I could be wrong.

You're going to need to start a go-fund-me if you plan to maintain this vehicle with a zero dollar maintenance budget. The fact you were able to rework a couple of burnt traces and solve a running issue, even temporarily, is nothing short of a miracle. You need to work backwards and figure out what component is connected to the pins of that burnt trace and investigate or you'll just be back in the same situation.

As far as the immobilizer issue, I'd jump straight to disabling it. You'll need a blue cable and follow this http://nefariousmotorsports.com/foru...c=5068.0title= Even if you get a new ecu, you'll still need to deal with the immobilizer unless you get one that already has it disabled.
