wheel center cap removal

Thought i'd ask - is there a way to remove the Audi center caps without removing the wheel? I got 4 new OEM ones to replace old aftermarkets..
Otherwise, i'll just wait till me next tire rotation. Thx-

if you can figure out another way that doesn't damage them, you're a rockstar.

Use a pick tool in the little hole on the front of them. This may be specific to the wheels you have though.

I've had this work in the past on some wheels. admittedly haven't tried it on the s7, but its an inexpensive attempt.

Attach the tape to the center cap, then the other side of the tape to anything you can get two hands on to gain leverage, then give it a yank.

take a tiny allen wrench that has a 90 degree bend in it. put it in the hole and pull it out.

They come with a little wire thing with the spare tire intended to take these out. It is a loop of wire, with a right angle bend on the end that slips into a small hole in the caps. Then they yank out. Like others said, a pick or Allen key will work as well of you don't have that

There are different designs of center caps. The one that also covers lug bolts indeed have a small hole for a removal tool, however I'm pretty sure OP meant cap that doesn't cover lug bolt.

Tape trick might work on it, otherwise you pretty much have to remove a wheel to pop it off from inside.

B7 had caps that didn't cover the bolts and had the hole, too

But in which case, tape is a solid plan

For caps without holes for a pin- similar to the tape idea, you can first put a strand of weed-whacking line (or similar) and tape that directly to the cap with duct tape or similar. You can then just pull on both ends of the line to pull the cap off. Plenty of even steady leverage. Just have to be careful of tape residue.

Thanks, all. I'll give the tape trick a shot. Worst case, i'll just drill a hole and yank them out as i will not need them.
