This is less of a "Look what I did!" thread, and more of a "Look! it fits!" thread.
I always liked the Alphards. I first saw them on a MK5 VW GTI, and they just looked amazing! I liked them because they were a stylish Ronal wheel that looked great on almost anything!
So, I started doing some research, and originally I was a little saddened that they were only offered in a staggered setup, but considering they came off of a 2003-ish Mercedes SL600, it made sense: Luxury coupe with a V12.
Well, I wasn't going to give up. I did as much math as possible by comparing width, offsets, tire sizes, and other variables from vehicles on the forum, just to see if something similar would fit.
After feeling like I had enough data that the wheels would go on the car without issue, I had to figure out tires! Figuring out how to handle staggered wheels on an AWD system that needed similar overal diameters wasn't too bad, because Math is fun... 🙃
I'm happy to say that I've found solutions to the issue, and I just wanted to show my "Proof of concept".
Front wheels measure 18x8.5, 35ET with 235/45R18 = 26.33" overall diameter
Rear wheels measure 18x9.5, 40ET with 265/40R18 = 26.35" overall diameter
Overall diameter difference = .02" = 0.5mm = less than the amount of tire wear of a single tire rotation service. I even added over half an inch of sidewall with this setup compared to the 245/40R18 wheels/tires that were on my B8 S4 originally.
