    Avoid Delphi Coil Packs

Ok, ok... I know the S4 is a nice car and we shouldn't buy cheap parts, so I know I should've avoided buying Delphi coil packs, but for anyone else out there wondering which coil packs to buy... go with Audi. After a bit over a year of having them installed I've replaced two from complete failure, and had a misfire on 2 more cylinders.

    Just avoid them.

I have AA Ignition coils in my car.

For some reason, all 6 of my OE coils wouldn't spark my copper plugs very well. These seemed to be a very solid aftermarket option and have resolved my issue.

New OE ones might have as well but I wanted to try these. Only con is they are slightly more pink than the OE coils.

Makes me wonder if the Bosch coils I bought from ECS are faulty. I keep getting misfires all over...

Out of curiosity, what were your reasons for replacing the stock coil packs? Just routine replacement due to poor performance / high mileage?

As a former Delphi engineer, I approve of this message.

Also in for why you replaced the stock units.

Ditto. My modus operandi has always been not to replace them unless faulty but to keep a couple in the trunk just in case they are needed. As long as you have a OBD2 dongle in the car, you can ID the misfiring cylinder and replace it on the side of the road (worst case).

I replaced my original ones at around 100k because of random misfire and random rough idle. The Delphi's did alright at first, but showed their true colors after a while.

I had close to 70k miles and soft misfires, being proactive.
