    Front upper/lower control arms

I have a 2012 A6 w/ 91K miles. Took it to the stealership (thought it was still under warranty, but ran out in Oct) because the front end was making noise. Was told the control arm bushings are starting to wear. Is this normal on these cars? Also, doesn't look like to big of a job to do it yourself, but wasn't sure. Has anyone done this before? Was going to use the 034 Motorsport kit. Was also planning on adding either lowering springs or coil overs since I was going to have it apart. Any recommendation on this? Was looking at either H&R springs or the KW Height Adjustable Lowering Spring Kit.

Thanks in advance for any info/advice you can provide!

Every Audi needs control arms lol
They eat them up at an insane rate.
At least on the older ones

I just installed the 034 Density Line Lower Control Arms on my car. My car called for the M12 kit per their fitment guide however after ordering and exchanging, the M14 kit is what fit my car. 034 is working to update their fitment guide for these kits. Mine is a 2012 A6 Quattro Prestige with Sport Pkg. with a build date of 3/12. I installed the EuroCode LYKT adjustable upper control arms so I could have more negative camber. I am extremely happy with the purchase and ease of install. If you hammer the ball joints out they pop apart pretty easy with a good hammer. Much easier than trying to use a ball joint separator. You want to make sure you snug down the bolts on the bushing end of the control arms with the weight of the car on the suspension. This means moving your jack stands under the spindle so the suspension is compressed before tightening those bolts. Otherwise the rubber bushings will bind and cause premature failure. With the rear of the car on ramps you can have the front suspension on jack stands and keep the car level. You can tighten the ball joint nuts with the suspension unloaded no problem. Also, if purchasing through FCP Euro you have a lifetime warranty on parts. You will need to first remove the undercarriage insulation trays, sub frame brace, fender liners, and heat shields. Another thing that causes front end noise in our cars is the upper strut brace bolts needing to be re-tourqued. Hope this helps.

Just having the same issue.....2012 A7, by the 034 fitment guide, I need the M12. After receiving and installing, I need the M14 ball joints . They sent me a replacement , but wrong arms when received ( instead of the curved ones, they shipped the front lower ones ).
Waiting for another shipment I guess...

I went through an extensive amount of contact including pictures to help them update their fitment guides so that other customers would not have the same headache I did. It is unfortunate they are still causing headaches for their customers. Our cars are left up on jack stands often times while they ship the right products.

    To the OP,

How did you put those jack stands? I assume they are on the car's jack points right? If so from where did you lift the car in order to put the jack stands where they are?

    Thanks...

I know this is an old thread but what were your findings regarding the build dates?

034 also told me I needed the M12 kit which i got , only to learn I needed the m14 kit. The time and money that cost me ended up costing them a customer.

I looked it up on other parts websites and the build date ended up being split at 8/15/2011 rather than the date in 2012 they gave. Kind of a headache for those of us with MY12 cars
