Speed dependent volume control and general '17 B&O gripes

Having owned a 17 for over a year now I have a general dislike for the B&O system.

    1. 17s got screwed and have no way to control the subwoofer level. I've been playing the the remaining settings to try to get more of a punch out of the system which imho sounds pretty weak. I ended up actually changing the FOCUS to REAR, which ironically actually seems to overdrive the front speakers (and reverse for FRONT, which seems to be louder in the REAR, wtf right?). Doing this seems to have given me a lot more bass and I can almost tell that I actually have a sub back there. I then moved the fader a notch or two towards the front. It's not bad, but not great.

    2. Anyone notice that if you have Speed Dependent Volume control disabled, the system has no punch at all. And when enabled it has punch as long as you are moving, and goes to sounding like sh1t again when you are stopped. I just want the damn thing to sound like it sounds when it is enabled and the car is moving. It sounds so much better and a lot fuller. It's almost like hitting the LOUDNESS button on your old boombox. It certainly seems to adjust more than simply the volume, in fact it seems to adjust the gain instead.

I agree with you, the no subwoofer control sucks, but I have listened to my friends RS3 that does have the sub control and honestly the system sound the same. Yes, you can crank up the sub which throws it into clipping and distorts, but overall, they sound the same.

drove a loaner with it last week, had no low-end at all, its missing a huge amount of sound that just kills it for genres like hip hop.

    Pulling away from you :)

Take it to a quality audio shop. They can undoubtedly replace the amp(s), to give you however much punch you want!

Yeah my ‘16 sounded much better.

Not happy with the ‘17 but I will try your settings. Have really been thinking about looking into the sub upgrade also.
