    Harbor freight engine cradle

I was on some other audi forums and they had linked to a cheap but not longer existing harbor freight engine cradle. 50 bucks versus the 500 of the audi brand. There were also rubber inserts with VAG partnumber T40045. Does anybody have a link to the harbor fright engine cradle so I can remove the subframe. Has anybody removed the subframe with the harbor freight cradle without the rubber T40045 rubber inserts? Is the damage they mentions only cosmetic? My friend had crafted a tool to remove the lower transmission bolts to remove the upper oil pan without dropping the subframe I was going to do that. But I figured if 50 dollars would save me some busted knuckles I may as well drop the subframe. I often hear of misalignment of the wheels due to dropping the subframe. Is that also true?

Me and my brother pulled a 2.7 and a 4.2 from 2 different C5s with the harbor freight engine hoist np, 2.7 is still hanging on said hoist

He's not talking about a hoist, though.

He's talking about a cradle that, I'm assuming, straddles the fenders, supporting the engine, so you can drop the subframe.

Harbor freight engine support bar works great. Used it many times. Latest project was removing the subframe on my e90 335xi. And typically when removing the subframe or replacing suspension components it’s recommended to get an alignment afterwards.

I’ve gone this route in the past too, works perfectly.

I’ve bought the correct cradle, haven’t used it yet though.
