    BC Racing Coilovers - Review

    Good morning,

Figured I'd give this its own thread.

My son gave me this brief review. Courtesy of Apex Racing outside of Durham, NC they installed the BC Racing coilovers. They are height adjustable and dampening adjustable as well. The 2011 B8 S4 car has 115K on it, maybe a few more by now, and had stock struts with H&R sport springs. The car was as low as it could go without rubbing. The guys at Apex duplicated the ride height and provided a slightly more compliant ride thru the shocks adjustability. A set of adjustable control arms was added at the same time to allow for a return to spec camber. The report back is that it rides super nice and at speed it handles much better than before thru ramps and lane changes etc. More "planted". I haven't personally driven it, but I would say based on the feedback that given what was on the car and the replacement parts that you should expect a slightly better ride than the H&R with stock struts with more adjustability to suit your taste.

    Thanks, Joe

I've had 2 sets on my previous rides and can say that they are great coilovers for the money. The swift spring upgrade is totally worth it. Did you go with the regular or extreme low option? Do you have any pics and would would you happen to know the approximate adjustment range?

Here is a pic. I didn't know there were multiple offerings for the same application. In either case, I bought the ones that fit A4/S4 B8

I have them on my b8.5 s4. I don’t know if I like them. I have to keep toying with the damper settings, with other coils on other cars it never took this long to get a comfortable setting in place. Also, the fronts can go pretty low but the rears sucks. I’m tucked in the front and about half inch in the back. I have the standard springs, but I may purchase the Swift upgrades.

My wife got these for me this Christmas, if it wasn’t for that I woulda went with kw’s.

    On to the drawing boards
